I'm chronically ill with multiple illnesses, which all impact my quality of life and how I live. The hormonal cream I use is a topical medication for my vulva that greatly increases my quality of life. Prior to this medication, the medications for my other chronic conditions were so drying that I would move and my vulva skin would split open in excruciating micro tears. I was prone to chronic yeast infections, pain during sex, and constant discomfort. With this medication, I barely have to think about these issues because they've been almost entirely resolved.
It's already challenging that I need to pay for this medication out of pocket because compounded medications are not covered by insurance. If you revoke or create additional barrier to access to this medication it will have a direct negative impact on my life, comfort, and health. There is no comparable prescription available from a traditional pharmacy, and if there was it probably wouldn't be one I'd be able to use due to my severe allergies to excipents in medications.
Please, please, do not add any additional restrictions. You will be directly harming the people like me who need your help the most.

I tried FDA approved pharmaceuticals which were very expensive and not effective. For years I just suffered along. I didn't realize I had an option until a friend recommended a doctor who is a pelvic floor expert. After my diagnosis from this doctor, I received a Rx for a compounded hormone replacement gel which has changed my quality of life and that of my husband. The compound is well priced, easy to use and has removed the problem. It's an issue not easily talked about, so this solution is VERY important.

The twice-weekly applications of estradiol have had a tremendous impact on my overall sense of well-being and energy levels. The five nights per week that I do not use estradiol, I have my sleep interrupted 5 to 6 times to empty my bladder. By comparison, the two nights that I apply the cream I'm interrupted once or at most two times to empty my bladder. A restful night's sleep is very important to my physical and mental functioning. I consider the compound cream to be of utmost importance to my health.

Shortly after having a botched vaginal hysterectomy (uterus only) I started having vaginal pain and was finally (after about two years) diagnosed with vulva-vestibulitis. The pain was constant, but I was finally treated successfully. When I started going through menopause, the pain returned. It appears the dryness that occurs with a reduced level of estrogen was once again overstimulating the nerves and the pain returned. I tried over-the-counter products, but they all caused irritation and worsened the pain. Finally, my physician who treated me for the initial vulva-vestibulitis suggested using a compounding pharmacy where they could put the estrogen in a vehicle that was not irritating to me. He had success using a compounded estradiol product on other women like me. I have now been using the compounded estradiol for about 10 years and it has changed my life. Although my drug insurance does not cover the compounded estradiol, I find paying out-of-pocket worth every penny.

I would have to catherize myself three times a week to open a stricture of my urethra. Using the compounded vaginal suppositories, I no longer have to do this. It has changed the quality of my life entirely.

My physician detected by 24 hour urine test, that I was somewhat deficient in testosterone. I preferred to avoid injections becuase they caused injection site pain afterward. Also, nobody likes sticking themselves on a regular basis. When I first started uising testosterone, it made my estrogen levels jump because testosterone is converted into estrogen by aromatase enzyme. An adjustment was made to the compound by my physician to add Anastrazole, an aromatase inhibitor to the orescrition. This solved the problem. After this was settled, my testosterone levels started to go just a little too high. My doctor was able to easily adjust my prescription to use 25% less of the cream, which I did and my hormone levels normalized.
This type of fine tuning of my prescription was only availlable for a compounded hormone. I am so glad that this medical service was available to me as a patient.

I have been using bioidentical hormones for over 10 years now. I am starting into menopause now but in the early years I began to use them to help regulate my body so I did not have to take other medicines for depression. My depression was a mild form and I had very low energy. When I started the creams with the proper amounts of the hormones my body was short on, I began to feel like a real person again. They worked much better then any anti-depressant I had ever taken before the body has a great way of healing itself when given the right tools. I have continued to take them to keep an even mood, a good sex drive and to sleep better at night. All of these things make for a healthy, whole person in my opinion and that is what I have felt like since taking them. My perscription has changed over the years along with my body but it has always helped me to feel good and I would not want to give that up especially to someone who is just looking to make money off of me and not care how I actually feel. My doctor has been a great help and I have had regular check ups and blood work to make sure all of what I am getting is the correct amounts.

I went through menopause young due to treatment for breast cancer. I soon developed severe vaginal atrophy and pain. Making love with my husband was excruciatingly painful. I had pain if my clothing chaffed me. I was having frequent bladder infections, which was never a problem before menopause. I was prescribed Estrace vaginal cream but, I kept getting bacterial vaginosis from this conventional hormone and also was discouraged to see it had petrochemicals which are not good for breast cancer patients. I was prescribed Vagi-Fem tablets, but I developed breast tenderness and fullness, similar to when I was ovulating and my estrogen levels were high. Obviously this was not acceptable for a breast cancer patient. Additionally, the tablet was not dissolving fully on some evenings and was not relieving my atrophic vaginitis symptoms. The only things that have helped me without causing significant side effects and without having unwanted ingredients are the bioidentical hormones, E3 (Estriol) and DHEA. I have found these to be helpful and without side effects in all forms including gels, creams and suppositories. The bioidentical hormonal therapies of Estriol and DHEA have enhanced my quality of life in a way that conventional hormones did not.

cBHT has helped me balance my hormones to greatly reduce perimenopause and now, menopause symptoms. All of my friends not taking cBHT complain of miserable symptoms. My life transformed with the use of cBHT. The practice of the medical field has been to treat the symptom not the cause. My doctor put me on Prozac to treat hot flashes.
