Compound hormone therapy has had a significant, positive impact on the quality of my life. I developed skin reactions and irritation to many of the prescription creams/suppositories which made it difficult to get through the day. The cost was also astronomical. My insurance company (a well known company) did not cover the $300.00 monthly cost of the prescription Estradiol Cream. The Compounded Hormone Therapy-Estradiol in Coconut Oil Base caused no skin reactions or irritation and healed and significantly repaired my vaginal atrophy. Cost of monthly CHT is $68.00 month versus the non-covered $300.00 month prescription cream which caused irritation and significant pain. With the compounded hormone therapy, I now can get through the day with minimal discomfort. Compounded hormone therapy has been a lifesaver!

The current pre-made testosterone gels would make me use way more than I am using now and would cost about four times as much than I am paying now, even with insurance. This gel is more specific to the dosage that I need, and is way more convenient and way less messy. This is very important to my ease of administration and my health. My menopause was some years ago. Six years ago, I began a new relationship after my divorce. After years of what was essentially celibacy, I experienced sexual dysfunction. Among other things, my waning hormones meant I was no longer able to reach a climax, which was frustrating and depressing beyond words. The symptoms were partly ameliorated by bioidentical hormone therapy, and this has made a profound and positive difference to my quality of life.

I do not get any vaginal dryness or urinary infections/irritations, which I was getting frequently. I also do not get intense hot flashes, with severe perspiration anymore, which I used to get several times a day, and night; which also made it hard to sleep consistently, leaving me sleep deprived.

I had a vaginal fissure and used hormonal therapy and a compounded traumeel skin ointment to treat the tissue so that it could heal non-surgically. That was successful. I currently use a compounded hormonal cream to maintain the tissue post menopause. This cream when I tried to buy it name brand was over $300 through my insurance. Doing it this way has been effective and much cheaper. I have the compounding pharmacist and my doctor to answer questions about my treatment. If I did not have insurance (as a self employed person, I was on the ACA until my husband got insurance), non-compounded treatment would have been out of reach financially.

I take five compounded drugs. Estradiol cream has greatly decreased the number of UTIs that I get, without producing side effects. The other compounded drugs I take are for low thyroid and adrenal failure. They are not actual hormone drugs. The mainstream drugs that I first took gave me horrible side effects and I had to stop taking them.

I found a physician that prescribed a hormone cream for me which has helped tremendously. My symptoms have significantly decreased and if I do not continue to use this I will revert back to the symptoms I was suffering with. Please do not restrict compounded hormone therapy.
