I am here to say that my physical health and mental health would be in danger had I NOT used bioidentical hormone therapy. I had a severe case of disruption at 51 years of age where my body stopped producing estrogen and my physical and mental ability were in danger. I landed almost in the hospital, but instead knew well enough to go to my gynecologist. Up until then, I had taken OTC progesterone cream to assist with pre- menopause. After a few weeks I improved 50%. Now I've been on it for five years with very few interruptions to my life, with testing and adjustments to the bioidentical creams. It has dramatically improved my life with no side effects or set backs. This is a TERRIBLE idea to not allow for this type of treatment. It is effective and is safe. I should be allowed to maintain and improve my health as I am aging. The FDA has not done its job if it restricts compounding. The biggest benefit it is done with testing and adjustment and side effects are not like HRT- chemically produced with dangerous side effects. I am pleased and have been pleased with bio-compounding and see this as another barrier against women's right for health and well-being. Physically going through menopause is hard enough and we need all the safe available pathways to health. Isn't that also what the FDA is supposed to protect? Bioidenticals can also assist men who are having more trouble as they age as well.

Starting on bioidentical progesterone has been a game-changer for me. I learned about the use of this through Dr. Dan Purser's book, and the benefits have been many for me. The number of migraines I was having was reduced substantially. Breasts became much less dense to the point where I no longer had to get additional mammographic imaging. It has helped with sleep and mood also. I also use a compounded testosterone and DHEA cream. All of these preparations are worth paying for out of pocket because of how beneficial I feel they are.

As a post menopausal woman with dysautonomia, my body was unable to make the hormones that I need. My neurologist recommended/supported my decision to use BHRT. I am much calmer and can enjoy sex with my spouse! Everything is better! Life is good.

Taking BHRT therapy I now am sleeping better, significantly less depression and anxiety and mood issues.

I had to have a complete hysterectomy at 48 years old. The hormone cream replacement is compounded to exactly what my body needs, which is much safer than an over the counter pill that is generated for the general population not for each individual. My insurance doe not cover the cost of my hormone replacement but to get the exact amount that my body needs is worth paying for it out of my personal pocket. If I am no longer able to get the bioidentical hormones, I'm worried about the side effects it will have on my body causing me to have to take additional prescriptions that are not made specifically to what my body needs.

When I started taking my compounded thyroid medication it was like the "light bulb" went on. I could think more clearly. I am not as cold anymore and I am not gaining weight. I trust my compounding pharmacist to accurately dispense the prescription. My blood hormone levels can be easily monitored and dosages easily adjusted accordingly. I feel good on this regimen and have greater peace of mind.

I cannot take synthetic drugs as they cause all kinds of problems with me. When I finally found a natural supplement, I was able to use it and not have the devastating side effects.

I am 48 years old. At age 20, I developed Vulvodynia. Specifically, Vestibulodynia. It took me 16 years to get an accurate diagnosis. I suffered for years. Terrible, horrible, daily 24/7 pain. I took birth control pills on and off for over 10 years. These FDA approved pills is what led to the vulvar pain, and my doctor never told me this could be caused by using them. They can block estrogen and testosterone receptors in the vulvar skin. Although I stopped taking the pill, that was not enough to help the severe pain. The only way to get the correct balance is through using compounded estrogen and testosterone in a soothing gel base, so as not to further irritate the skin. There is currently nothing on the market for those of us with Vulvodynia. We need tailored, individual dialing in of hormones to be relieved of excruciating pain. Restricting, or discontinuing the ability for patients like me to receive prescriptions for specifically tailored hormones would be detrimental. I spent years seeking help for pain, pain that is now under control by using my topical, compounded estrogen and testosterone. If I were to stop using the compounded medications, the pain would return. Restricting compounded medications would cause many people to suffer, myself included. Please do not take a patients right to receive individualized care.

Going on bioidentical hormone treatments was life altering for me. I had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was on two harsh medications for it.
