I had a hysterectomy six years ago. I did not need hormones until this year. I tried literally everything else. My progesterone was three! I hadn't been sleeping for a few weeks. I was given three testosterone pellets and progesterone pellets under my tongue. After my second bloodwork, it showed my levels were normal. I feel 100% BETTER! More like myself again!

As a nurse practitioner I personally tried to use the "gold standard" for my symptoms. Nothing worked until I switched to compounded medicine. I have a new quality of life. My medicine is adjusted for my symptoms. I hate it isn't covered by my insurance. At $3 a day I choose medication over a Starbucks coffee. If anything it needs to be considered essential and my insurance should cover it.

I was diagnosed with lichen sclerosus. Testosterone was prescribed to treat it. At that time I only had white spots. Later I had a hysterectomy. I had all the symptoms of low hormones and was treated with cBHT. My mood became much better. My lichen sclerosus, however, started getting worse. I started getting lesions. My doctor had me put my Biest cream and testosterone cream on it and it got much better. When my doctor switch me to a Biest pill, the lichen sclerosus flared up again. After I switched back to the cream, it calmed down. It never goes away, but is under control with the hormones. If I cannot get my cBHT, not only will my lichen sclerosus become unmanageable and extremely painful, but I will also suffer from extreme depression.

Before using cBHT, I was increasingly depressed, moody, impatient. I would snap at people for no reason. I had trouble sleeping. I could not see the point of living. After careful and regular testing of blood and saliva, cBHT has turned all that around. I look forward to each day, and I sleep soundly through the night. I surely hope no one takes this option away from me.

I can say without hesitation that bioidentical hormone have helped me regain my full functioning and my family has appreciated it! Without it, my health was in progressive decline with physically and emotionally debilitating symptoms, and some quite detrimental to my health, with vaginal and cervical skin thinning and tearing, causing fecal matter to cross the skin barrier into my cervix. I was experiencing debilitating anxiety, with traditional prescription meds not helping at all. I tried several prescriptions over an 18-month (miserable) time period. Two months on a compounded progesterone troche, my symptoms were drastically reduced, and I had hope that I might be able to regain some sort of normal life for the first time in the 18 months! It's been a year since I've been on this compounded regimen and I'm virtually symptom free now! Also, I am allergic to synthetic estrogen (I couldn't even take birth control pills), so when I do hit full menopause, if bioidentical hormones are not available to me from a compounding pharmacy, I will have to suffer through menopause with no relief!

Compounded hormone therapy has definitely improved my quality of life. When I was 37, I had to have a complete hysterectomy (after living with infertility and extensive Endometriosis; Endometriosis destroyed my bladder, bowel, vagina.) Ten years later, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Incontinence, nerve issues and pain are a constant in my life! My physician prescribed compounded therapy. It has definitely helped with my constant vaginal pain. There is a big difference when I don't use cBHT. Please DO NOT eliminate compounded therapies! This therapy is definitely needed! I'm glad that there's a pharmacy willing to make the EXACT compound I need. I'm finally able to have sex with my husband (without the constant pain that I've been living with for over 35 years). Sometimes traditional medicines don't work for everyone. Medicine is NOT always an exact science. Don't eliminate the pharmacies willing to make these compounds for us!
