I started cBHT five years ago and it totally changed my life in terms of dealing with menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, mood swings, brittle hair, skin quality etc... The effects were immediate and I had zero side effects from it. I will get re-checked periodically to see if my dose needs adjusting in any way. This is a life saver for ALL women. It makes zero sense that a one size fits all HRT would be effective. All people are different and have different metabolisms. It is crucial that we make bHRT available to all who need it. A pharmacist goes to school to learn how to compound drugs.. let's let them do their job the way it was intended and not to be a "pill counter" for Big Pharma.

I have received Bioidentical hormone therapy through prescription from a licensed physician for 15 years. Pitt Street Pharmacy in Mt. Pleasant, S. C. has filled these prescriptions including compounds. I feel that I am receiving both of these services in a professional manner. Bioidentical hormones provide natural hormones without the extra byproducts that would be added by pharmaceutical companies. I receive consultation from my physician regarding this treatment twice a year with blood analysis one to two times a year to assess hormone levels. Why fix something that is not broken? Look at the literature. HRT by pharmaceutical companies in the past resulted in carcinogenic by-products being added to hormones which hurt many who received it. Natural hormones are very helpful with aging to eliminate the unpleasant symptoms of menopause. It reminds me of oil in your car. If your car runs out of oil, your car deteriorates very quickly. Cardiology has significantly extended the life expectancy of millions. Why not also focus on the quality of life? Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy works!

I have been taking cBHT for over a year after experiencing two years of miserable menopausal symptoms including poor sleep quality, dry skin, weight gain, thinning hair, fatigue, and declining health (prediabetic, etc.) I tried many other things to help- nothing worked. I had cancer when I was 18 and had to have a hysterectomy so I was started on hormones. Ogen was prescribed and I took it for over 20 years until the company stopped making it. To say that I felt "out of sorts" prior to the use of cBHT is an understatement. As a scientist and engineer, I am analytical in nature and am very familiar with the "cause-effect" relationship. So it came as no shock that my initial OBGYN exam showed my hormonal levels were off followed by a recheck that showed I had timed the physician's exam and bloodwork with my pre-menopausal to menopausal episode. Once prescribed cBHT, my overall health and well-being was back to a balance.

It has totally changed my life. Before I began using cBHT, I had constant hot flashes during the day and night sweats. I could never wear a long sleeved shirt or jacket in cold weather because I was always hot. I was sweating all the time and was so uncomfortable. My face would turn red from being overheated and that would create many dry patches that would sometimes bleed because I also suffer from eczema. I truly felt like my back was the sun radiating heat (that is how I would describe it to people.) I live in South Carolina where the weather gets extremely hot in the summer. When I had hot flashes in that extreme heat it was hard for me to even go outside and lead a normal life. I also had a terrible time getting good sleep before I began using cBHT. After I began using it, I have been able to sleep like I used to and it has been a total game changer. I notice that if I forget to use my cBHT cream for even one day I get really bad hot flashes and terrible sleep. It literally happens that quickly. I truly do not know how I would live a happy life if I were unable to use cBHT.

Compounded hormone replacement therapy has made a large impact on my life- ask my husband! I sleep better, have regained my libido and just overall can really tell a difference. Please do not take this option away as it is really important to me. The compounding is so tailored to my needs that it cannot be replaced with a general one size fits all medication. I do not take any other meds of any kind and feel like it would really be hard for me to do without.

I could not get by without compounded BHT. I tried standardized pharmaceuticals, but had reactions both to the ingredients added to the medicine and to the unbalanced medication. I no longer am crippled by hot flashes, insomnia, irritability, rapid and irregular heart beats and weight gain. It is a life safer. I also use compounded thyroid medicine to control my low thyroid.
