Before menopause, I had a total hysterectomy and oopherectomy. It didn't take long before my skin dried up, my emotions were wild, and several other symptoms. I developed breast cancer which is estrogen connected. I have been fighting autoimmune issues for 15 years and have become very chemically sensitive, which limits many items, including a lot of pharmaceuticals. cBHT has been a life saver for me. My life would be in a shambles without it. It doesn't matter what chemicals the FDA approves if I can't use them. I am very concerned that the FDA is even considering a move to restrict cBHT.

Prior to bioidentical hormone therapy, I had hot flashes, incredible mood swings and depression, felt sluggish all the time, and overall just couldn't stand the skin I was in. I had been on several different anti-depressants and anxiety medications. My menstrual cycle was sporadic and horrific in terms of length and quantity of flow. I have now been on BHT cream for two years. It took about six months for things to "regulate" and my doctor to tweak the dosage, but I feel 10 years younger. I have a sex drive again. I have discontinued the use of anti-depressants and can say with 100% certainty that this have improved my quality of life - as well as the quality of life of my family. Hot flashes are rare and my menstrual cycle is more predictable and managable. I am so thankful that a friend had me see Dr. Whitcomb to discuss bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. I don't feel so "foggy" all the time in terms of remembering numbers/dates/appointments (I used to mess them up all the time!). I certainly still get moody, anxious, and tired, but I just feel "normal" again. This truly has been such a quality of life saver for me.

I was told by two different doctors that I wasn't able to have children. I had irregular or no period at all. My hair did not grow past a certain length, I continued to gain weight despite diet/exercise, and I completely lost my sex drive. cBHT has brought back my period on a regular, monthly schedule. My hair grows normally now. I have now naturally conceived two children. My weight and sex drive are still concerns, but I am working to rectify both as best I can.

I cannot imagine life without cBHT. I entered surgical menopause at age 29 and continued to suffer for years, after standard pharmacology failed me. Unless one has experienced the life-altering effects of menopause, one cannot judge the soul-saving benefits of cBHT. Synthetic hormones are NOT the same, and the delicate hormone cascade knows the difference. Not only is your body affected by hormone disruption, but also your mind and your soul. I am not exaggerating the difference cBHT made in my life.
An arbitrary committee can not understand the quality of life difference cBHT can make without talking to patients, talking to prescribers. I wonder if there were any women on this committee? Any post-menopausal women on this committee? Do NOT allow Big Pharma pressure to determine what my body requires. The decision for hormone supplementation should remain in the hands of patient and doctor - not a committee.
