“I began cBHT about 12 years ago. At the time, I was in my mi...”
I began cBHT about 12 years ago. At the time, I was in my mid-50's, a couple of years into menopause. I had struggles with depression starting in my 40s, and menopause made the depression worse. Severe sweats and hot flashes kept me from sleeping.
Although I was concerned because of a family history of breast cancer, I decided to try hormone therapy because my quality of life was so bad. I first tried FDA-approved hormones. My mood and hot flashes improved a little, but the doctor prescribing the medications quit her practice, and I had to find a new doctor.
The new doctor I found used cBHT. She was able to customize dosages in a way that was life-changing for me. My depression disappeared. I slept soundly. I was actually happy to be alive. It was amazing.
Because of concerns about the breast cancer history in my family, my doctor felt strongly that I should decrease my estrogen dosage and rely more heavily on estriol. My depression returned. I tolerated the depression for many months, but eventually decided that my quality of life was worth the risk of breast cancer. I gave my doctor written assurance that I understood the risk, she increased my dosage, and the depression disappeared.
A short time after that, because I had moved, I changed doctors. The new doctor was not comfortable with my estrogen prescription and switched me to biest. I lost some joy in life, gained some weight, but he kept the dose high enough that I didn't fall back into depression.
Then, 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. This was not a surprise given my family history, and there's no way to know if I would have gotten cancer had I not used cBHT. After much research; discussion with my hormone doctor, my surgeon and my oncologist; and a lot of agonizing and tears, I decided to have both breasts removed. My cancer was hormone positive, but I decided to pass on SERMs and to continue cBHT at the lowest dose that would keep me from becoming depressed again. As I explained to my oncologist, I would truly rather die young than live a long life chronically depressed. After my surgery, my doctor and I actually cut the cBHT dose too much, and I against was depressed. He was able to raise the dose just enough to pull me out of depression. It's a compromise dose -- I miss the joie de vive of the higher estrogen dosage, but I'm not depressed, and I feel the lower dose is less risky. I've had no cancer recurrence.
As my story illustrates, a big advantage of cBHT is the ability to customize dosage to address individual situations. As my health has change, so has my cBHT. One-size-fits-all would not had addressed my needs.
I would also like to add that in the over a decade that I have used cBHT, as well as compounded thyroid medication, I have NEVER had a problem with inconsistencies in quality or dosages. Believe me, if there were changes each time the prescription was filled, I would notice. That has never happened.

I have not only been on HRT, but also bioidentical T3T4. I could not take regular estrogen as it made me sick. I have no thyroid and need T3 besides T4. This is the only form that can regulate me properly. It makes me feel like a new person.

Without this therapy I was greatly depressed because my hormones were not right. I was just laying on the couch and not able to move most days. This therapy allowed me to be normal.

If I did not have the compound, I would have bleeding issues constantly and possibly a hysterectomy that was not needed. In addition, I would have never been able to have my child. It saved my mental health and my life!

At 32 years old, my daily life was practically non-functional. With two small children to care for, I was too exhausted and sore to lift them, play with them, or some days even get off the couch. I worried that I was too tired to safely drive them to preschool. My brain fog kept me from being on top of the details of my family's life. But once we found the right dosages of cBHT, I became fully functional at my previous levels. I sleep well, no more sore muscles, and my brain fog lifted. Almost 20 years later, my quality of life has been wonderful because of cBHT. Every few years I try to move away from it and my symptoms come right back. There is no way I could have lived through the last 20 years without cBHT!

I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 46 and taking bioidentical hormones has improved the quality of my life greatly. I chose NOT to take synthetic hormones because of the potential risks associated with them. My mental health has greatly improved since taking bioidentical hormones. Please do not disallow them!

Shortly after finding out that I have an autoimmune disease, I came down with mono that went untreated for two years. The use of bioidentical hormones helped me get my life back! I went from two years in my bed, to getting balanced again! I cannot believe that this is an issue I have to fight for. Please do not take away the opportunity for alternative health!

“Compounded hormone replacement therapy has greatly helped me...”
Compounded hormone replacement therapy has greatly helped me! I have allergies to wheat, soy and lactose, which are usually in the other therapies and being able to compound it, I can get it without all of these fillers. I also have very sensitive skin, so I have had problems with topicals. It has helped me to sleep better and have more energy. Please don't take this away! There are many people who have problems like me and you are essentially saying we don't matter, if you take it away.

If my doctor hadn't seen my need for hormone replacement therapy, I would be leading a very unwell life right now. I experienced way more than just hot flashes. The lack of hormones had lead to overall bad health, adrenal fatigue, diarrhea 24/7, overall pain and that's just the start. I was only 38. Since beginning biodentical HRT, I don't have to make sure I'm within bathroom distance, the weight gain is gone, cuts heal normally, my hair has stopped falling out, my sinuses are much clearer, my joint pain is much less than what it was, and so much more! I feel well, and when you don't feel well you don't function well as a normal person in society. PLEASE don't take away my option of for a safe effective medication. It is more like what my body would produce. These hormones are better for me, instead of synthetic or horse hormones. I really feel like I would be full of cancer if I had to have the traditional hormone replacement therapy and not my compounded HRT. I am thankful for it every day.

Hormonal cream was prescribed by my doctor, but the insurance was not covering it and the cost was over $400. The second try of a different type was almost $300. Neither was affordable to me. Thankfully I could get the medication I needed at $60 and am finally getting relief.

“As I went through menopause, I had trouble sleeping and had ...”
As I went through menopause, I had trouble sleeping and had restless leg syndrome. Getting no sleep and having restless legs really lowered my quality of life. I also experienced brain fog and headaches! I discovered the natural health improvement center and had my hormones checked. I discovered my need for hormone replacement. I also suffered painful sex and remedied that with compounded hormones! That being said, I would like to focus attention on my daughter who is 30 years old, and not using traditional birth control, but an IUD. She had suffered through deep depression for years, along with mood swings and headaches right before each period. This was a very tough time for all of those close to her. It was ruining her quality of life big time. She had her hormones checked and discovered her great need for balancing hormones. She has been on hormone replacement since then, and after years of living in dread of her time of the month, she has found relief! She is like a different person as this was affecting her well-being! If this compounding service is taken away I fear for her mental and physical health, and am sure there are so many other women out there like her!

When I was about 53 years old, the menopausal hot flashes, fatigue, and brain fog were taking a toll on my mood and stamina to be a good wife, mother, and teacher. I expressed this to my daughter's therapist (psychiatrist), at the time, and she suggested I take medicine for depression and psychosis. My husband thankfully threw a fit and said to visit Dr. Ann Auburn, our naturopathic physician. I did. She tested me and prescribed a troche (for the estrogens) and a capsule (progesterone). They worked for me beautifully to restore me to my previous healthy and happy self! I have used them for many, many years. I am now 68 years old, and am still using them, even after a recent hysterectomy about a year ago. I also have a very fulfilling sex life thanks to them.

Prior to cBHT, my testosterone level was very low. It impacted my ability to think clearly at work due to major fatigue. I gained weight and became what people classify as "obese". My marriage was struggling because of low libido, which resulted in mental health concerns for not only me but my wife. cBHT drastically changed my life in a matter of a month. I had my life back, I had my marriage back, I was no longer depressed and I dropped the weight. We have the choice to choose good, organic foods, so please let us have the choice to choose good medication. Let this be about us.
