It's hard to answer the "effect" question since I don't know how things would have turned out had I not started the hormones. I am "osteopenic", small boned and low-weight, so my doctor, nutritionist and chiropractor thought this would be a good idea. I have had no negative side effects; my breasts got a little larger (they were always very small) - that wasn't negative. I like the fact that my Rx is compounded based on MY personal blood test results every six months, rather than a one-size fits all, and also that bioidentical estrogens are just that, and aren't some strange unnatural substance being put into my body because some drug company wants to be able to patent their drug. I am 75, people think I'm maybe 60; I'm sure the hormones have helped.

I am a 74 year old woman who has a history of UTI infections. They were so cronic I went to see a Urologist a couple of years ago. The exam and tests ruled out any serious issues with my kidneys or bladder, etc. The doctor explained they had the best results treating women with my problem using a compounding pharmacy that provided C-ESTRADIOL cream 0.015%. Since I have been using it, my incidents of infections greatly reduced. Besides being very painful, the only medicine that worked was Cipro. That drug has possible side effects but when I am in pain it works where the other RX's did not. I urge the FDA not to ban cBHRT as this cream has greatly reduced me getting infections.

I need T4 supplementation. I have two rare genetic disorders. There are literally no premanufactured versions of T4 I can take from regular pharmacies because all of them have added ingredients that I cannot take due to my two rare genetic disorders. My airway literally swells and I can die or at the very least go to the hospital. The only way I can get T4 that I can take is through a compounding pharmacy. Not every patient has the health privilege that allows them to get all of their prescription needs met through regular pharmacies. You cannot take away compounded hormone therapies from the U.S. population.

When I was advised to get a full hysterectomy at only 32 due to a cancer scare, my doctor advised me to take traditional pharmaceutical hormone replacement therapies to "manage" my forced menopause. It was a disaster, as my body is highly sensitive and the medicine he prescribed created intolerable anxiety and inflammation. So I stopped taking them. For years, I went untreated. Eventually I felt so "depleted" that I sought treatment from a doctor well versed in holistic therapies. When she checked my bloodwork, she found my hormone levels were very far below optimal levels and prescribed bioidentical hormone therapy for me. Under her care, I've now been on bioidentical hormone replacement therapies for four years. At 58 years old, I have never felt better. I believe in health freedoms when products are found to be safe and effective. I would be devastated if this safe, effective, life-changing solution was taken from me.

I have been taking bioidentical hormones for over 20 years. They definitely balance my life. Just a few years ago, I went into a phase of little/no sleep and felt panicked and very afraid. I had my hormones rechecked and when the results came in, there were adjustments that needed to be made and very shortly after that, I became myself again and felt "normal." They make a big impact on my life and I will be very concerned it they will not be available. I appreciate that they can be compounded to what my body needs.

When I had symptoms from menopause, I went to my gynecologist and thank goodness she tested my hormones. She said if I had gone to a regular doctor, they would have said I needed estrogen. But, my estrogen levels were so high she said if I had taken it I would have had a nervous breakdown, because I was so stressed and depressed. She saw my progesterone levels were extremely low and also testosterone was low. She was one of a few doctors in the area doing hormone replacement. I started progesterone cream and testosterone cream and within three weeks I started to feel like myself again. No depression or sadness or anxiety. I have been using these two creams for 10 years. I have a new doctor and he tests me every year and adjusts the dose if needed. These hormone creams have saved my sanity. I will continue to use them.

I have had extremely low-T. It was around 100. I am 66. I had no energy, thinking struggles and no sex life at all. After starting treatment within two weeks I started to have a lot of energy, no sleep issues and after five weeks, my spouse and I are sexually active at least once a week! I love my life again. I did the head scan for the pituitary gland and went for a sleep test as well. Nothing is causing the low-T anymore. I am now in the normal range and have been for about two years. I still feel great! I never want to go back to that miserable life!

When I went to the doctor for blood work and for an overall health check up, the levels of my hormones were pretty much non-existent. I knew I was struggling in pretty much every area of my life, but had no idea it was my hormones. I was also having issues with bladder infections on a regular basis and it was a great concern to me. So after having started with cBHT, I'd say within a month I knew there was a definite difference and I was amazed!
