I was taking an oral form of hormone therapy and had several adverse reactions. I knew hormonal balancing was what I needed, but the lifestyle I live prefers a more natural balance. When my functional medicine doctor recommended these drops, it was exactly what I needed. I have had ZERO adverse effects (and I'm receiving the same hormones that were in the pill), and my quality of life has improved to more than I thought it could be. I have always had low progesterone problems, but had such a severe drop after my third child, that I had a three-month migraine (no epidural, etc. to blame it on). I did not respond to synthetic progesterone, but once I started with bioidentical progesterone, my life changed. Once I entered perimenopause and struggled with more hormone imbalances, the bioidentical troches greatly enhanced my quality of life. I am very sensitive to medications, so the ability of the compounding pharmacist to create exactly the right amount of what my body needs is something that I do NOT want to give up to Big Pharma. Compounding pharmacists practice REAL pharmacy skills vs "just" counting pills!

At first my doctor thought I had heart problems. Come to find out, it was menopause. My hormones were out of wack. He put me on BHRT and it solved my issues. I have been on them for 13 years.

Before bioidentical HRT, I was a mess. I did try traditional pharma (IUD and estrogen patch) but I was always in a bad mood, I had no sex drive, and I couldn't be a good partner in my relationship. I felt like an empty human in my soul. I also have side effects from pharma hormones. Not good ones. Ones that lead to antidepressants. NO one needs to be on those unless they have to be.
Bioidenticals have given me my quality of life back. I am only 47 and that is too young to not live a full life. With traditional pharma, I felt the road I was going down was more pharma drugs to treat the other issues. I honestly was miserable. Adding more bandaids adds more problems. Bioidenticals get to the root cause and address them, not slap bandaids and call it healthy. It's not.
This one troche does everything. My mood has improved, my happiness level have improved, my sex drive has been improved and I can be a good partner in my relationship.
I am not a person who wants to be a slave to Big Pharma. It does have its time and place, but so do my bioidenticals. Please do not mess with my life. We as women have too many people in our reproductive lives as is. LET ME BE MY ADVOCATE FOR MY HEALTH. I know my body better than anyone else.

I had a complete hysterectomy at 42 and tried using prescription estrogen patches and did not have good results. I was tired, had hot flashes and was feeling off. I told the doctor I felt different and not like myself and when they tested my hormones, I wasn't getting enough from the patches. I was also not pleased with my doctor and her attitude.
I switched doctors to one that prescribes compounds. I was very nervous but after a few months the I could see the difference. No more hot flashes, I felt more balanced and just overall more normal. I can't imagine how long it would take to figure out what combination of drugs would produce the same results.

Initially my doctor prescribed prempro and some of the other synthetic hormones but there were too many side effects, i.e. breast tenderness and vaginal discharge. I sought out a doctor who prescribed bioidentical hormones and after a complete workup I started taking the troches. Almost immediately the severe hot flashes, trouble concentrating, being unable to sleep through the night and lack of libido were gone. That was 10 years ago. I see my doctor every year to discuss dosage and how I'm feeling. I hate to think about going back to feeling the way I did before taking bioidentical hormones. I have NEVER had one negative side effect from them and have recommended them to many of my friends and relatives.

Two years after menopause I was feeling awful. I had trouble sleeping, thoughts of doom, tired, and my nerves were on edge. I was in good shape, 5 ft. 4 inches and 120 pounds, worked out regularly, but I felt a sense of doom and gloom and was fuzzy due to lack of sleep. I started with the pellets for four years and then switched to the troches as it was easier to make adjustments month to month. I've been using HRT since 2011 and feel reluctant to stop as it has helped with sleep and mood.

Through compounded bioidential hormone prescriptions, I am able to work with my doctor and get the exact dose that best fits my needs. I believe they have kept me feeling younger and more active than many women my age, without the side effects caused by traditional hormone replacement. I currently use a bioidential hormone cream as well as a capsule for Progesterone. My insurance plan used to cover these, but since the ACA forced my prior insurance carrier to drop individual plans, I now have to pay for these prescriptions out of pocket. They are not covered by insurance plans, which makes no sense as I feel they are keeping my healthier.

I'm not going to sugar coat this- for medical reasons and to prevent cancer, I had no choice but to remove my female organs...all of them. I was made to believe that since I'm 47 and likely perimenopausal, I shouldn't suffer any ill effects hormonally. Gentlemen, this is incorrect and I have suffered greatly. I wouldn't wish these physical and mental effects on my worst enemy. I have suffered from so many horrendous night sweats (about 15 each night) and each lasts about 10 minutes or more. Tell me how a woman is suppose to function when she's not able to sleep due to night sweats? The hot flashes during the day are bad enough. My family wanted me out of the house at night because they all just about froze to death. My hair started falling out and still is. And my mental capacity and attitude were always kind and loving...it seems I'm bitchy to just about everyone and I seem to have lost my mothering compassion. Honestly, I'd rather be dead than to be without cBHRT because it has saved mine and my family and coworkers lives as well.

I've been using the compound HRT for MANY years. I started with the troche, but the small private pharmacy in Leavenworth closed. My OBGYN suggested the vaginal cream for its lower dosage and personal balance. (I had to find a compound pharmacy in Kansas City). I feel it's kept me physically the same as I was before menopause, in ALL respects. I feel good, and most notably, my skin is moist and young. My body has not 'dried up', as they say. I'm now 71. My doctor recommended I cut back to just 1/2GM to keep the dosage even safer. I have never had any side effects or problems with this RX...being compounded just for me. Whenever I get the chance and the subject comes up with younger women, I highly recommend this type of HRT from the start, rather than suffering through testing other tablet type solutions. Even a few times when insurance wouldn't cover it, we gladly paid out of pocket...it's priceless! It just logically makes sense to be created individually for each woman, than guessing what 'might' work for all.
