Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy saved me. During peri-menopause and continuing into my menopause, I became anxious, depressed and irritable. I was difficult to live with and quite frankly did not like the person I became. Intellectually, I knew that my moods were out of control. I had BSO several years into immediate menopause. I have been taking bioidentical HRT for over 15 years. It made a huge difference in how I went through menopause and how I have felt post-menopausal. I have also done much better than everyone I know that has gone through menopause. I did not experience any of the typical symptoms including hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and fatigue. I have also received great results on all of my bone scan tests. I will never go off of them because I know I would not feel as great as I do now compared to the rest of my peer group. I regularly go to my primary physician for bloodwork and then he consults with my pharmacist so that I get the correct dosage. I am very lucky that there is a compounding pharmacy 15 minutes from my home because there are very few.

Why rob people of a natural set of ingredients that help them feel better? Don't infringe on my rights to feel better. Trying to control what works for others, favoring one kind of hormone replacement over another is like choosing a golden child and scapegoating another- very narcissistic. There is no one size or kind fits all. Grateful for the yam based cream that not only soothes my estrogen, but soothes my histamine at the same time. Multiple things are at play with hormones.
