cBHT has had an extremely positive effect on my life. I suffered from migraines, anxiety and depression, and tried FDA approved hormones from pharmaceutical companies that made my issues worse and I could not work. Once I switched to cBHT, I was able to deal with my difficult menopause and continue my work as a fitness trainer. I would never go back to FDA approved pharmaceutical hormones. cBHT has saved my life and I should be allowed to choose what I put into my body, not the government. I am begging the FDA to let me choose my course of treatment. Don't take my quality of life away from me and my family.

I am currently 62 years old. I hit menopause right at 50 with unbearable symptoms that I do not think were even on a symptom list. I also suffered from rough hot flashes. I thought I had unusual and unexplainable symptoms because I never had children. Some days I felt like I was going to pass away right where I was standing at that very moment. One day while having lunch with a friend, I had a hot flash. My lunch friend asked me if I was going through menopause and if so I must try bioidentical hormone pellets. At this point I had nothing to lose. I went and had my first insertion nine years ago. I was so amazed that within two weeks I had no more hot flashes and no more unusual other symptoms. I also wanted to note, that before I heard of the pellets I used every means of ointments, oils, creams that the doctors had prescribed. Nothing worked. One doctor even prescribed anti-depressants, which I did not consider at all. What an amazing change it was for me. Night and day! I am perplexed why this wonderful option for women in menopause is not covered by insurance and not approved. I get two insertions a year to feel like a human being again.

Following a complete hysterectomy, Estradiol was necessary to combat vaginal dryness. I also must continue to apply Hydrocortisone to treat lichen planis and avoid possible surgery. Both of these medications must be compounded especially for me because if not, there is a possibility allergic reactions. The compounding pharmacy has worked with me and my doctor to create medications my body will accept. Both medications continue to have worked well for me and I hope will continue to be available from the compounding pharmacy.

It has improved my mental clarity and focus, allowing me to be perform my responsibilities to my family and my employer to what they expect and deserve. Overall impact has been increased quality of life and health. To remove availability to your constituents would be detrimental. In all areas of medicine persons need to be informed and weigh the risk versus benefit for themselves. Everyone is different and circumstances are different. It is wrong to treat all people in a cookie cutter approach. Allow to offer all available options.

I'm writing this for my 88 year old mom. She was having one intractable UTI after another due to an unstable pelvic floor from a hysterectomy and an allergy to cipro. She also was retaining urine in a bladder that was folded over by a ligament meant to keep organs no longer there in place. We tried self-catheterization which worked but was cumbersome and painful. Her Genito-urinary specialist finally ordered her estrase cream originally five times a week and now two times per week and it's made all the difference in the world. No more trips to the ER with fever, frequency and spasms. She has literally been UTI free since she has been using the cream vaginally and topically. We cannot thank the folks who compound the estrase enough for what they have done for her. I honestly am not certain she would be alive today without it.
