Bioidentical hormone therapy has made me feel better and alleviated the symptoms I had before going on them (dry skin, losing my hair, lack of sleep, etc.). I tried prescription hormones and did not have the same results, worried about my cancer risks increasing and in general did not like being on them. Bioidentical hormones are much better and Congress should allow doctors to practice medicine and use reputable pharmacies to compound prescriptions as they see fit.

I am a 52 year old woman in menopause. I have been taking compounded progesterone and testosterone for three years now. The benefits I have seen are better sleep patterns with the compounded progesterone and increased energy during the day with the testosterone. Any medicine that can be compounded we would 100% rather have for our continued health. It is most important in our way of life to have the opportunity to have natural ways of taking medicine. For all of the many toxins we are exposed to, if we have any opportunity to have a choice of a better quality and healthier medication please let us make that decision for ourselves.

I have been using cBHT for close to 10 years, and I cannot imagine not being able to fill my prescription for E2/E3/testosterone. I want to use bioidentical hormones, not estrogen from horse urine. cBHT has been a miracle for me for eliminating hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness and more. I am at risk for osteoporosis, so knowing that it helps my bone density is another big benefit. I have never had any problems with using cBHT. My prescriber is a nurse practitioner with many years of specialization in cBHT, and she checks my hormone levels at least annually. I would personally be devastated if the FDA bans cBHT, and I know that millions of other women in America would as well!

My menopausal symptoms negatively affected my sleep and I, consequently , was always exhausted. Compounded HRT treatment has allowed me to sleep through the night. I also had hemorrhoid surgery today, with a very painful surgical site. My surgeon prescribed a compounded ointment to control pain
and also bleeding at the site. I am grateful to have this compounded ointment! My dogs also get medication compounded to a specific dose for their weight, a much more therapeutic approach.

I started taking the compounded hormone when I entered menopause to lesson the effect of menopause. That would have been in my 50's. Also, to benefit my overall health. I am now in my 70's and can definitely tell a difference if I should miss a few dosages.
I think compounded is safer and better as it is compounded for my individual needs. I will not take a "one size fits all" dosage. Why would the FDA even consider restrictions cBHRT?

I was diagnosed with estrogen dominance because of trying the "one size fits all" estrogen pill. I tried for such a long time with NO success with that method. On the advice of my doctor I tried the bioidentical hormone replacement and feeling so much better already. I would ABSOLUTELY hate to go back to my previous method of trying to find the unattainable balance of "one size fits all". Unless you're going through menopause it's hard to explain how his important this option is for us who need it. Please don't take this away for those who have found balance due to this compounding option.

I suffered from severe post-partum depression for over two years. I had severe anxiety, brain fog, severe insomnia, depression, and irregular cycles. The labs showed that I had very low progesterone and estrogen dominance. The progesterone therapy has helped to normalize my cycles, helped me to think clearly, elimnated the anxiety and depression and helped me sleep normally again. I was suicidal at one point during the post-partum depression and I am so grateful for the compounded bioidentical hormones as they saved my life. It has also helped to treat the severe cramps from endometriosis that I had before I had my baby.
