Since I have been taking my bioidenticals, my quality of life has improved dramatically. Before using the bioidentical cream, my hot flashes were literally every 30 minutes, my sleep was always disrupted, my mood was depressed, and I had trouble focusing. There is danger in taking a hormone of the same dose every day, when my natural body does not work this way. It is scary. Using a personalized amount each day, mimicking my natural body hormonal levels, seems to be the safer way to go. It works for me and many, many others. My mother has severe osteoporosis with 75% bone mass loss in her spine early onset in her late 30's. I as well had borderline low bone density in my 30's, which shows improvement and no deterioration. I have used hormone replacement therapy since age 50. With a two year break. During the break I had debilitating inattention and anxiety, as well as obesity with increase in abdominal fat, increased LDL, low HDL horrible Lipid panel, fluid retention and hot flushes, sluggish gallbladder, urinary incontinence, zero libido and exacerbation of eczema, as well as severe insomnia with little sleep. All these symptoms ceased with my return use of bioidentical hormones. My quality of life is so much better. I have tried prescription pharmaceutical synthetic hormones in progesterone and did poorly with the standard dosage as I require very fine adjustments that can only be achieved by compounding my medication. Despite my having to spend my limited income on out of pocket medications, it is worth very penny and I feel like my healthy younger self at now 60. Thank you to my doctor who monitors me closely and to my pharmacy who I can consult at any time. I depend on the custom tailored bioidentical hormones to have a good quality of life.

Prior to taking cBHT, I suffered from hot flashes, fatigue, brain fog, and vaginal dryness. The hot flashes would happen suddenly, regardless of the temperature, and would leave me feeling sticky and sweaty. If I was in a crowded setting, I would be embarrassed that I was having to fan myself to try to cool myself off. Daily around 3:00 pm, I would begin to feel sleepy as if I needed a nap. I rarely had the luxury of having time to take a nap, so I felt as if I were just dragging myself through the rest of the day. I had a difficult time recalling words and frequently forgot things. In addition, my hair, skin, nails, and eyes were dry, and sex with my husband was painful.

I couldn't sleep because of severe hot flashes throughout the night. I was so anxious when I would get in bed, knowing what was to come during the night. I was exhausted every day and emotional to the point I'd have to leave my office and clients sometimes. Many years ago, a hysterectomy was performed on me without my permission while I was in the hospital on bedrest waiting for test results of why I was not feeling well. I came in thinking I had the flu and was getting ready to travel. A nurse accidentally mistook me for another patient, ignored that I had an IV and took me off bedrest. As soon as I stood up, I went into a coma, was rushed into surgery leaving me with only a part of one ovary and no possibility of having children. When I reached menopause, I suffered extreme hot flashes and the only thing that has helped was prescribed compounded bioidentical hormones. I tried a couple of times to see what would happen if I stopped taking them and the symptoms came back. I have continued to take them to this day and I'm 74. A month ago I had a bone scan done after several years with the last bone scan showing I had no symptoms of osteoporosis although my mother and grandmother had to take supplements for this. These most recent results showed that there was very little change from my last tests.

Bioidentical hormones have radically changed my life. Before going on bioidentical hormones, I could not sleep. My other systems were shutting down without the hormones, my hair started to fall out, I developed a histamine intolerance, I was having headaches and hot flashes, and I was moody and agitated. All of those symptoms disappeared when I started the bioidentical hormones. If bioidentical hormones are removed from the market, I refuse to take synthetic hormones. I would rather live with my symptoms than poison my body and create other issues. Which most synthetic pharmaceuticals do.
