I tried to find a conventional solution to my hormone imbalances for multiple years, starting in my early 20's, experimenting with at least five synthetic hormone options. I have several autoimmune diseases, and my hormone imbalances can make my other conditions far worse than they are. The deficiencies also add depression and intense irritability to my list of symptoms, which makes everything else so much harder. About seven years ago, I finally found a doctor who recommended and prescribed compounded bioidentical progesterone and estrogen. While the conventional hormone options gave me terrible side effects and very little symptom improvement, cBHT has made a huge difference for me, drastically improving my fatigue, inflammation, depression, and pain. I cannot imagine losing access to bioidentical compounded hormones and ask that everything be done to prevent that. My medical conditions are expensive, disabling, and challenging enough without any added barriers to getting one of the few types of treatment that actually helps. Increasing the regulations around cBHT and giving pharmaceutical monopolies even more market control is highly unethical and absolutely unacceptable.

I have been using cBHT for 15 years. It has drastically improved the quality of my life, with NO side effects. I will be 55 years old and had a hysterectomy at age 40. I have had a complete hysterectomy with bladder sling and mesh to repair vaginal and rectal prolapse. Hormone suppositories have been extremely helpful in keeping the vaginal tissues healthy. I also use a hormone patch for estrogen which enhances my quality of life and protects my bones. I also use a Testosterone troche which also protects my bones. My DEXA test since starting this regimen has actually shown increased bone density. I use a compounded micronized progesterin for sleep which has been a miracle as a sleep aid. I highly recommend compounded hormones for their extremely beneficial affect.

I feel that it would be horrible to take a dose of hormones that is not the exact dose that the person needs and when you take these hormones in the form of pills you don't get as much of a choice in dosing as well as what the liver has to go through to metabolize these hormones. My nails are stronger, my skin is smoother, and my memory is better. The hot flashes are gone, so I can sleep again. Needless to say, my husband is also happy with the results.
My doctor says my blood work is perfect. I've never had any side effects. I take no prescription drugs. I just take supplements and use cBHT. I feel no differently now than I did when I was in my 30's.
I would be very upset to lose access to cBHT. If the FDA wants to get rid of something, they need to get rid of the countless prescription drugs with the ridiculous list of serious side effects.
Anyone who truly wants to change healthcare for the better should be an advocate for supplements, cBHT, and more doctors trained in natural healing.
