I have severe vaginal dryness from perimenopause. The problems arose very early in perimenopause and have worsened over the last 10 years. My OBGYN prescribed estrogen cream which I have been using for 10 years now. It has literally saved my relationship. Before the cream, sex was so painful it was impossible and my relationship was eroding. This cream helps two people: myself and my partner. I could not function in a healthy loving relationship without the vaginal estrogen cream.

I began using bioidentical hormone therapy soon AFTER going through menopause. If I had known of a practitioner before, then I definitely would have started sooner. Before starting on this form of therapy, I was waking up 6-8 times a night with hot flashes. My sleep pattern was similar to when I had newborn babies waking up all night! Needles to say, I was exhausted, unmotivated, and crabby pretty often during the day. The hot flashes have gone away and this is helping with keeping my bone density from decreasing. I feel strong and healthy. I only wish that it was not so expensive. And I wish it was easier to find prescribers!

I take progesterone and testosterone. Without the progesterone I do not sleep well and it greatly impacts my ability to do my job. The FDA approved doses are either too high or too low for me. The compounded dose is exactly what I need. My doctor will only prescribe the testosterone as compounded because as a women I only need a small dose. Without it, my libido is reduced to just about nothing. Both of these greatly increase my quality of life!

When I reached menopause, my energy plummeted and there were times I could not function very well. Oral hormones solved that problem but caused nausea and headaches. Those problems went away when I started using a compound but the benefits remained. With the compound, my physician could easily modify the three hormones I am taking to suit my particular needs. I am 75 and would be extremely unhappy to have to give up my hormone compound now. My bones have stayed strong and my energy is good.

Prior to being prescribed custom-compounded HRT, my doctor had me try some of the Big Pharma products, which did not help me at all. I continued having hot flashes and sweats that came on without notice at any time of the day or night. Sometimes I'd get so hot I'd get sick to my stomach, and my sleep was totally disrupted every night. It is hard to feel good when you're not able to get quality sleep. My Durham, NC compounding pharmacist and my gynocologist worked together to determine the right prescription for me, and continue to monitor things. I cannot overstate what a difference bioidentical HRT has made in the positive quality of my health and life, and I shudder to think how I would feel without it. I am genuinely sorry for communities without a compounding pharmacy, especially for women of menopausal age. I tell every woman I know what a fabulous difference bioidentical HRT has made in my life. I am so grateful for this service!

I was diagnosed with advanced Osteoporosis at my 42. After a negative reaction to bisphosphonates when I lost 8% more bone in six months, I was placed on a birth control pill and calcium. After about eight years I developed high BP. Ultimately we found that my BP was being driven by the synthetic progesterone in that pill. I moved to bioidentical hormones to protect my bones. Today, at age 69, I am greatly improved and only osteoporotic. Bioidentical HRT has saved my life.

I have struggled for several years finding hormone replacement therapy that is both effective at controlling my symptoms without causing negative side effects. I am allergic to estrogen patches and cannot use them. I have tried gel and that too causes allergic reactions on my skin. The compounded estrogen that I get from my compounding pharmacy does not cause any allergic reactions. It is also A LOT less expensive- and I pay the full cost of my prescriptions because I have a high deductible insurance plan. For example, the estrogen from the compounding pharmacy costs about $50 per month. The gel product I used before was $260 per month. Please do not take away this valuable product and service. My very life depends upon it.

The cream is used topically to reduce/clear up a caruncle, which I had for almost a year before it was finally diagnosed by a urologist. Although using the Estradiol cream took about six weeks to begin eliminating the discomfort and clearing up the caruncle it has made a world of difference, and after a year I have been able to reduce the use of Estradiol to one night a week, rather than three. However, it seems I will need to use Estradiol probably for the rest of my life. The cost to purchase compounded Estradiol is remarkably cheaper than using a manufactured hormone therapy drug. I feel Estradiol is a more natural product, not so much chemicals.
