I tried regular hormone pills and I could not take them due to the inert ingredients in them that made me sick, so I started on compounded hormones and felt much better. It is worth it to me. If you just take away this option, many, many people who cannot tolerate regular medical hormone pills will get very sick. Also, if you just stop compounding pharmacies from providing them, even more people will get sicker as you cannot just STOP taking any kind of hormones as one needs to wean off of them properly no matter where they come from. I think the fact it is even being considered is so wrong for the folks who depend on these. There are people with allergies to the regular pills and folks who cannot tolerate the ingredients and folks who simply prefer a healthier version. Please do NOT take this away from us!! My body will not be able to handle it. My Compounded Pharmacy takes great care in what they produce and I trust them whole heartedly. I NEED to stay on the cBHT if I am to remain well. I have no other choice. Please do NOT take them away from me. My GP will have fits if you do as she wont be able to treat me correctly. I feel so much better on the compounded version. Now I am scared you are considering taking away my life-blood. That is not okay. Please hear me- hear US. This simply cannot happen. There are just too many folks who depend on it.

I needed to be on Testosterone, and I just couldn't take what my doctor gave me. It wasn't working so he suggested getting some from a compounding pharmacy. I did this and it made a huge difference. I am so glad I did this. While not on it anymore, I believe in the freedom for people to choose if they want to use compounded medicines. Compounded hormone replacement therapy has given me back my life as well as my husband's. Our brains are now functioning and we can think clearly and remember things. No more major debilitating brain fog that doctors could not diagnose or find a solution (we found the solution to be hormones with our own research!). My husband was about to go on disability due to intense debilitating muscle pain (back, shoulders, arms, hips, neck) and again that horrible brain swelling/fog. He is about 80% better being on hormones for five months! Also our anxieties and depression have improved by 95%! Nothing else has helped us and the improvements were noticeable fairly soon after we started using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (cyclic type called CRT). We absolutely need our BHT to function and survive, just as much as I need my thyroid medication to keep my thyroid functioning. Same principle applies!

I am pan-hypopituitary, and almost 75 years of age. I have taken thyroid since age nine, and, in adult years, HRT as well as steroids (prednisone- I'm allergic to hydrocortisone).
Taking the bioidentical estrogen compound enables me to maintain my energy and stamina levels, and the addition of steroids help me to heal at a more normal rate (pan-hypopituitary also means my adrenal gland doesn't work). If I had to go back on low-dose HRT at this age, it could, as I'm sure you realize, cause all kinds of problems. And yet, I don't dare go without it, as I would become very weak and frail, and I would have more broken bones than I've had (thus far limited to one cracked rib, one toe, and one tiny bone in a foot in the last five years).
Bioidentical estrogen has worked very well for me for a number of years (at least 10, maybe 15), and I hope it can continue. I'm very thankful that this alternative is available for me!

I have had testicular cancer twice in my life, therefore, I cannot create my own testosterone. So I require compounded therapy in order for me to feel normal. I have tried other therapies in the past 25 years, i.e., patches, implants, injection, but they either cause allergic reactions or were painful and a hassle. Today, I use a compound cream every single day. It is customized to the dose my doctor prescribes and it has no unneeded additives that could cause allergies. Without my compounded cream, I would suffer from allergic reactions and not feel well at all. The compounded cream that I use does well for me. Why would I want to change that?

I was poisoned by an overdose of progesterone prescribed and unproperly monitored by my MD. This overdose nearly killed me with extraordinarily high levels in my system. I found a functional medicine physician who was able to diagnose the cause of my problems and GRADUALLY adjust my dosages (after completely weaning me off) to the correct level only through the use of cream hormone therapy. As you know, progesterone only comes in 100mg pill doses which would have damaged my health further.
At the same time my specialist was able to micro adjust my estrogen and estrodial prescription over a period of six months to find the right formula to normalize my hormones. This would have been impossible with pills. Without access to compounded hormone creams, I might not be here today.
