See below.

I have depended on cBHT since 1999. After a complete hysterectomy which rendered me with no estrogen producing capabilities in December 1997, I was placed on Premarin for 2 years. I found myself not doing well: trouble sleeping, trouble with mental tasks, trouble with hot flashes and night sweats, trouble with low/no libido, trouble with low energy and low stamina. After a conversation with a girlfriend who had already started on cBHT, I found a knowledgeable physician who with the results of my blood tests prescribed my needed dosing. I have been on cBHT ever since. I’ve had no issues with cancer (as is often the case with pharmaceutical hormone replacement such as Premarin). I’m sure the makers of Premarin are not happy with the lost revenue from us cBHT patients and MY pocket book has paid for my hormones ever since 1999 despite good health insurance; but, I have willingly paid the price to avoid the cancers. I’m surprised the health insurance companies have not discovered this way to reduce cancer in their clients. I have always been comfortable with my cBHT use and definitely feel that those not in the know (males or females with no knowledge and no personal experience) have NO BUSINESS regulating cBHT. P.S. If you have never had hot flashes or night sweats, you also have no business voting against cBHT. (My memory of a super hot flash dates back to 1993–strong memory even stronger event)! DO NOT VOTE AGAINST COMPOUNDED BHT! THEY ARE COMPOUNDED JUST FOR MY BODY AS EACH RX IS COMPOUNDED FOR THE SPECIFIC PATIENT’s NEEDS BASED ON THE BLOOD VALUES OF EACH OF THE RESPECTIVE HORMONES. DO NOT DESTROY MY HEALTH WITH YOUR IDEA OF THE NEEDS OF MY BODY!

Hear their stories. Protect their own words. Protect their access to compounded medicines.

On this page, we can only touch on the data that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to the lives of millions of people in this country. While the decision to take this vital therapy from patients and physicians might be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies, it will be disastrous for the millions of patients that those same pharmaceutical companies cannot serve!

We encourage the appropriate committees in both the House and Senate to hold hearings on this critical issue.
