Relief from menopause

When I was full-on into menopause I had much of the most talked-about symptoms such as hot flashes and insomnia.
But I also struggled with vaginal dryness. A hormonal disruption that is not talked about. My physical relationship with my husband became difficult and painful. I loved my husband but I began to dread our intimacy. He also was afraid that he would hurt me.

As I began to search for a solution I went to my physician and was prescribed hormone replacements. These replacements were pharmaceutic and need I say expensive too! I dished out the money and began to take the drugs as prescribed. Unfortunately, they had little to no effect.

Fed up with the expense and the lack of results I consulted my naturopath, who is also an MD, hoping that she would have another solution. She prescribed BI-EST/DHEA troche, which I have been taking for more than two years now.

This estrogen compound has been a blessing for my marriage. The effects have been off the chart better than the pharmaceuticals I was previously taking. My vaginal dryness has improved and my hot flashes are gone. I also sleep well through the night.

My naturopath is responsible and insists that she check my hormone levels with a blood test on a yearly basis. Monitoring me for safety.

When I heard that the FDA is considering restricting or even removing compounded hormones I felt dread. How can a government organization step in to remove a product that has been safe, effective, affordable, and monitored? As adding this cBHT has done wonders for my body and marriage and know that the removal will have consequences.

I hope and pray that the FDA will reconsider and know that removing cHDT's will have a negative effect on many otherwise healthy women.

Hear their stories. Protect their own words. Protect their access to compounded medicines.

On this page, we can only touch on the data that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to the lives of millions of people in this country. While the decision to take this vital therapy from patients and physicians might be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies, it will be disastrous for the millions of patients that those same pharmaceutical companies cannot serve!

We encourage the appropriate committees in both the House and Senate to hold hearings on this critical issue.
