I was on synthetic hormones for years for hot flashes. When we were told HRT could cause stroke, blood clots, etc. I stopped taking them. I suffered greatly with hot flashes/night sweats every two hours. I was told about a natural compound hormone therapy, which I new had some risk, however, the quality of my life was worth the small risk. I have been hot flash free since I started this therapy. Please don't allow them to remove the compound therapy treatment. I will not go back on the synthetic version. Thank you!

In 2001 I had a full hysterectomy after a diagnosis of Stage 1-2a ovarian cancer. A month after the surgery I begin BHRT with Bi-Est cream (80:20), progesterone cream, and a small amount of testosterone in a cream. Through the years, the doses have changed because of the results of saliva testing and symptoms, but I would never give up my hormones unless they were no longer available by law. If that happened, I'd probably cry for the rest of my life! I am 68 years old now, and people tell me I look like I'm 50. My skin is great, not too many wrinkles, I have no pain to complain of, my stamina is equal to a 40-year-old, and ageing seems years away. The ovarian cancer has never reappeared. I am still working full-time and probably will continue for years to come.

With hormone therapy I have nicer skin compared to others my age, my bone density has improved, I sleep better and have no vaginal dryness. Compared to me peers of the same age I feel that I'm aging exceptionally well. I have no negative side effects.

I had bloodwork completed, indicating I had zero Estrogen and was experiencing 24x7 heart palpitations, combined with hot flashes, hair loss and vaginal dryness. My heart palpitations prevented any type of sleep. No sleep medicines, no CBD oil, no anti-anxiety meds, stopped the palpitations. Only Estrogen has given me symptom relief. I cannot take oral Estradiol due to other co-infections and creams peak and trough at three-four hours. Pellets are the only thing that are consistent and they must be compounded. Otherwise I have no quality of life. I am currently on SSDI due to this hormonal imbalance.

I had a hysterectomy at 23 following the loss of my last ovary. I went on normal pharmaceutical pills for decades, first Premarin, then estrace. I gained massive amounts of weight and the migraines started within two years. I endured two migraines a week, each lasting three days, for decades. Then I heard about BHRT. What a life-changing medicine! As my hormones evened out, my migraines improved to where I now have one just on occasion. I lost weight and my hair grew back. I would never want to be without BHRT. Please listen to patients who actually use it instead of pharmaceutical companies who want us to buy their inferior products.

I have a genetic thyroid problem that can cause considerable difficulty for me. Menopause was very difficult. In taking the bioidentical hormones, I experienced a great lessening of menopausal symptoms. I have been on them for several years with no difficulties. My life has been very much improved by taking bioidentical hormones. Perhaps the FDA would benefit by asking individuals themselves of their experience with bioidenticals. It sounds as if those companies who create non-bioidentical hormones are beginning to feel threatened that their profits will not be made if individuals switch to bioidenticals or take them instead of the synthetics. Why would anyone want to put something in their body that was not there in the first place. As far as I am concerned, natural is the best way to go.

I believe I would struggle greatly with even more weight gain and all the health issues that would come with that if I did not have hormone replacement.
