“A year after my hysterectomy at age 38, my sex life became g...”
A year after my hysterectomy at age 38, my sex life became greatly affected. Things happened to my body that I did not expect. Vaginal dryness was my biggest complaint and nothing over the counter helped. Only through compounded hormone replacement therapy have we gotten our normal sex life back. But it has also helped my thyroid issues, mood issues, low libido, joint pain and frequent headaches. All have been greatly improved with CHRT, or cBHT. My husband is now even a patient! Testosterone cream has helped with his mild ED issues and seems to even improve his moods.
“I am a woman who has struggled with a vaginal problem for 35...”
I am a woman who has struggled with a vaginal problem for 35 years. I have made use of a compound hormone therapy for half that time and it has given me a good amount of relief from my problem. It has changed my life. I am so glad I found this type of pharmacy.
“I had successfully used cBHT for post-menopausal issues, inc...”
I had successfully used cBHT for post-menopausal issues, including bone density loss, memory loss, very low muscle mass retention, and for depression/mood. The low doses I was on seemed to even out my life. My insurance stopped covering cBHT, so I tried other prescription alternatives instead of paying the $150 + for my usual meds. My marriage almost fell apart because of the physical and emotional roller coaster these different meds put me on. I am 61 years old. I started post-menopausal bleeding daily, I had low abdominal cramps and my breasts were terribly swollen and sore. I felt mildly depressed and anxious all the time. My blood levels came back as normal. This lasted for four months! I finally went back on the compounded meds and my life is back to normal. Fortunately, my insurance consortium was able to override my insurance and cover my compounded medications. What a disaster that could have been!

“I wanted something that was as close to all natural as possi...”
I wanted something that was as close to all natural as possible and this was it. I felt like I was going crazy. I couldn't focus, had aches and pains from Endometriosis, night sweats, irregular periods, irritable, stressed, hair falling out, and much more. Now I feel I am back to my normal self. It is not right for the FDA to remove these meds. I can't always take prescriptions and I have had no problems with these.
“When I went to my doctor five years ago and told him I felt ...”
When I went to my doctor five years ago and told him I felt like an 80 year old woman, (I was still in my 50's), he ordered bloodwork to assess my hormone levels as well as other key blood components. I was greatly lacking in so many of them and also diagnosed with osteopenia. After one year on HRT with regular adjustments of my compounded hormones, I was feeling so much better! Now my DEXA bone scans are also showing improvement in bone density to where I am almost back to normal, healthy range. I have recommended several friends for this and all have been thrilled with the results and the medical conditions it has successfully addressed. Please allow compounded medications to be continued. I can't imagine why this would be withheld from so many that it has helped.

“I had serious side effects from premarin, made from pregnant...”
I had serious side effects from premarin, made from pregnant horse urine. I had almost constant debilitating migraines. Even before my hysterectomy, prempro- pregnant horse urine with provera, massive bleeding and almost constant debilitating migraines. I had to wear a tampon, maternity pad and pad the bed and the seat of my car. The blood would run down my leg. Provera should be outlawed. I also have osteopenia and cannot tolerate the osteoporosis meds. Compounded hormones gave me my life back, 100% normal me again. Bioidentical to my body. No more migraines. I don't have to worry about getting cancer as a side effect. I can take this medication until the day I die for my osteopenia to try and prevent osteoporosis without the terrible side effects of those other medications. I cannot begin to even explain my relief when my doctor started me on the compounded hormones. I'm a nurse, I did my homework, research. Not only is premarin not good for women, look it up online. It is inhumane and abusive to the horses too. I suffered before I was on compounded hormones. The thought of losing them infuriates me. I know where it's coming from. There are plenty of women who have no side effects from the premarin but there should be compounded hormones on the market for those of us who can't tolerate it.

“Because of low testosterone, I have low bone density. I was ...”
Because of low testosterone, I have low bone density. I was first prescribed Androgel and it cost $700.00 a month. I can't afford that. The compounded testosterone costs $58.00 a month. My bone density is improving. This makes me worry that the FDA is favoring large drug manufacturers.

I have been taking the bioidentical hormones for at least five years now. Within a week, I had no more hot flashes. I was insulin resistant and not able to lose weight. It helped balance me, gave me more energy, and helped my libido. I feel much better.
“I am a 27 year registered nurse, working for Cleveland Clini...”
I am a 27 year registered nurse, working for Cleveland Clinic for the past 10 years. I was entering into menopause three years ago and had horrible hot flashes/sweats and my insomnia was decreasing my quality of life, as well. I worked with my family doctor who had me try many medications to help my sleep and nothing worked. My family doctor, Dr. Jordan Garrison at Cleveland Clinic, who is an MD and DO, strongly supports the effectiveness of cBHT compounded hormone therapy and promotes that this is far safer than taking hormone pills. Within one week of starting Progesterone and estrogen topical hormone creams, my hot flashes went away and I finally started to sleep, without insomnia. I have been on hormone creams for three years and my quality of life is dramatically improved with them. Minimal to no hot flashes, good sleep without insomnia and I am able to remain intimate with my husband without vaginal dryness. My risks of heart disease are far lower with the creams, than taking hormone pills. My doctor and I strongly support the safe use of cBHT and this is safely compounded by my pharmacist, Dan Karant who has been compounding hormone creams for patients for at least 15-20 years. These creams need to stay on the market, via prescription with my doctor and pharmacist, to provide safe symptom relief for many menopausal women like me. Please do not ban the effective treatment of these hormone creams.

I have restored my muscle strength, along with better balance. My sleep is more restful. And my libido has been restored. Testosterone has greatly improved my quality of life.
“When I was premenopausal, I read up on bioidentical hormones...”
When I was premenopausal, I read up on bioidentical hormones versus premarin. I talked to my OBGYN about this and he shot me down big time and told me not to believe everything I read. I never went back and found an OBGYN that was open to bioidentical. I have been using for years. I take three different kinds, and pay 100 percent for it, although I have good health coverage, it does not cover the cost. Please do not take my right away to use this.

“Compounded BHRT changed my life drastically for the better. ...”
Compounded BHRT changed my life drastically for the better. In the span of a few years between 2014 and 2017, I needed a hysterectomy and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I was depressed and physically tired and in pain all the time. I cried every day. I was put on Cymbalta and later Lexapro. They both stopped my crying but made me feel mentally numb and didn't do too much else. Everything still hurt. I found a doctor willing to test my hormone levels and treat what was really wrong with me. My hormones were completely out of balance. We started with very low doses and titrated up slowly to get my blood levels in normal ranges and my symptoms corrected. In addition to the compounded hormones, I started low dose naltrexone. With my hormones balanced my depression went away, my sex drive came back, I started sleeping better and in combination with LDN my pain decreased drastically and my fibromyalgia flares stopped. My compounded therapy makes me feel the best I can. The compounded bioidentical hormone therapy fixed and continues to fix the root of everything that was wrong. DO NOT TAKE IT AWAY! Commercially available products cannot take their place and cannot be tailored to my specific dosage needs.
“I have an autoimmune disease and a genetic neuro disease tha...”
I have an autoimmune disease and a genetic neuro disease that affects the autonomic nervous system. Menopause and lack of natural hormones were a shock to my system, and caused a myriad of severe medical issues. I also have many allergies to fillers typically used in medications. My GYN prescribed FDA approved estrogen and progesterone therapy, one of which put me into tachycardia for 12 hours. A friend referred me to a compounding pharmacy, and I've been successfully able to use bioidentical estrogen and progesterone for eight years. Without the availability of these compounds, mixed especially for my sensitivities and allergies, physical and mental decline would be severe for me.
Without hormone replacement, I suffer with cognitive impairment (word finding difficulty, memory loss), increased joint and muscle pain, frequent UTIs and yeast infections, urinary incontinence, depression, skin breakdown, migraines and visual changes. My doctors tell me that bone and muscle loss, insulin resistance, cardiac issues and impaired cognitive function would likely also be added to this list.
I am followed closely by my doctor and compounding pharmacist, who work together to provide what is best for my individual needs.
Please consider that all women are very different, and especially when dealing with hormones, which affect every system in the body, compounding options are the difference between growing older at a young age (I'm only 54!) or enjoying a good quality of life well into senior years. It's imperative that we have the option of this individual care.

It has made raising my children much more manageable as I had become very impatient and hard to deal with after menopause set in. My thinking had been fuzzy, my memory was fading some, and I had lots of joint pain. The progesterone cream has helped so much and I hope it continues to be available to me. I wonder at times if hormone imbalances are often misdiagnosed as other problems. I am very thankful for the creams.

“I have been using natural progesterone cream for years. I am...”
I have been using natural progesterone cream for years. I am now 57 years and had a hysterectomy six years ago. I have not had the typical hot flashes. I tried lowering the dose and then stopped using the progesterone cream for a month recently and I can say, I don't want to have to do that again. I had flair ups of eczema, blood pressure, and hot flashes. My hair even feels better now that I am back on it! It balances my life and I would be sad to see it not available. Except for the money factor, why in the world would the FDA want to ban it? People are allowed to ruin their lives with alcohol and junk food, but this is a product that actually helps quality of life especially women of my age. If it does not help someone, let them decide not to purchase it! We should have the freedom to choose. I personally would not use something else. I would just let nature take its course and give up! I like the fact that it is more natural than something completely man made...usually with tons of side effects! I was also diagnosed with MS 10 years ago and I believe it helps that as well. The doctor recently said I must have a mild case since I am doing so well. I believe the natural progesterone cream has helped all these years. Again, we should be allowed to choose to buy it. It is not hurting anyone and actually helps me. That is the beauty of living in a free COUNTRY right?

“To me, it is important to use "natural" instead of synthetic...”
To me, it is important to use "natural" instead of synthetic hormones. These hormones match what my body was used to producing. They are tailored for ME! I have no side effects. Every woman has different hormone levels. For me, I had a complete hysterectomy over 30 years ago and I feel balanced. NO night sweats, NO hot flashes, and research shows these bypass my liver. I do not want my whole well-being to change.
