I was constantly feeling like I was one step away from a nervous breakdown. I was not able to enjoy my marriage, my time with my kids, or my successes at work. I went to a private practitioner and had blood labs done and we discovered my testosterone was astronomically low, and my progesterone was very low as well. The doctor walked me through how hormones in the body work, what side effects could happen, the risks involved, and the importance of being dilligent in timing of hormones and check ups with her. After deciding which treatments would be best (testosterone pellets and progesterone capsules) we started at a low dose. Within about a week for the progesterone and a month for the testosterone, my attitude, energy level, ability to focus, almost every aspect of my well-being, was improved. I feel like mysef again.

Typical proprietary formulations of topical gels (it should not be administered orally) today run around $700/month whereas compounded generic testosterone costs between $25 to $50/month. I buy a 90 day supply for $135 vs $2100 for a drug company preparation of the same medication. Given that Medicare and most insurance drug plans do not cover this medication, it outrageous for one to consider stopping compounding pharmacies from preparing the medication. I speak with some authority in this regard as I am not only a patient but also a fully trained pharmacist who went on to be medical doctor. Generic testosterone had been around for decades. The only justification for considering further restrictions on compounding hormonal products is to further enrich drug companies and unscrupulous entrepreneurs.

My skin is amazing, my muscle tone is great my attitude is great I had no negative affects at all going through menopause. I look and feel so much younger than I am.
