I am pan-hypopituitary, and almost 75 years of age. I have taken thyroid since age nine, and, in adult years, HRT as well as steroids (prednisone- I'm allergic to hydrocortisone).
Taking the bioidentical estrogen compound enables me to maintain my energy and stamina levels, and the addition of steroids help me to heal at a more normal rate (pan-hypopituitary also means my adrenal gland doesn't work). If I had to go back on low-dose HRT at this age, it could, as I'm sure you realize, cause all kinds of problems. And yet, I don't dare go without it, as I would become very weak and frail, and I would have more broken bones than I've had (thus far limited to one cracked rib, one toe, and one tiny bone in a foot in the last five years).
Bioidentical estrogen has worked very well for me for a number of years (at least 10, maybe 15), and I hope it can continue. I'm very thankful that this alternative is available for me!

I have had testicular cancer twice in my life, therefore, I cannot create my own testosterone. So I require compounded therapy in order for me to feel normal. I have tried other therapies in the past 25 years, i.e., patches, implants, injection, but they either cause allergic reactions or were painful and a hassle. Today, I use a compound cream every single day. It is customized to the dose my doctor prescribes and it has no unneeded additives that could cause allergies. Without my compounded cream, I would suffer from allergic reactions and not feel well at all. The compounded cream that I use does well for me. Why would I want to change that?

Compounded hormone therapy has made a dramatic difference in improving my health and controlling chronic pain. Our compounding pharmacy has impeccable standards and has allowed my doctor to dial in my dosage of hormones that fits my body, without harmful additives that I have reacted to from commercially made prescriptions. I do not experience negative side effects from compounded hormones. I have used them for many years with very good results for osteoporosis, chronic pain, and severe menopausal symptoms. If I cannot access compounded hormones, my health and pain level will be greatly negatively impacted.

I starting experiencing the symptoms of early menopause when I was 41. My naturopathic doctor recommended cBHT in conjunction with progesterone and very quickly my menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, mental fog, irritability) completely resolved. Finding the right balance of estrogen and progesterone has taken a little time, but I feel confident that cBHT is the right approach to managing menopause for me. I strongly support the right of patients to choose the form of therapy that works for them.

cBHT compounded cream has been a game changer. It has allowed me to sleep, stay strong exercising, and function in my busy daily life. The side effects are non-existent for me. I have been comfortably been taking cBHT for a few years now. A lack of access to these compounded hormones would have a serious impact on my quality of life. I would encourage you to allow access to cBHT.

I had a total hysterectomy in 1981 at the age of 31, I was placed on Premarin but had difficulties with it. I am now 71 have been on ERT since 1981. Due to my age and the increased risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease, I am using compounded Estriol with good results. Please do not take this away from me as at the age of 71 menopausal symptoms greatly reduce my quality of life.

As a female in her mid-40's with two kids, the severe pre-menstrual symptoms (mood swings, tender breasts, cramps, sometimes acne too) and heavy period (super ultra doesn't even cover) made every month challenging (if a meeting ran late, I would bleed through my jeans and had to go home). The combination of testosterone cream and progresterone pills have made every month's menstrual cycle "normal" and the symptoms leading to my period less severe/miserable and feels normal.

The compounded creams for HRT has helped keep my hormones on an even keel. There is little to none fluctuations; no night sweats; no hot flashes; no emotional crashes. Before taking the compounded HRT, I was on a patch, tried pills, etc. and was constantly needing to change doses up or down and experiencing hot flashes, night sweats, and on an emotional roller coaster. I can't even imagine going back to the pills/patches. I NEED specific, compounded formulas to keep my hormones balanced!

I was poisoned by an overdose of progesterone prescribed and unproperly monitored by my MD. This overdose nearly killed me with extraordinarily high levels in my system. I found a functional medicine physician who was able to diagnose the cause of my problems and GRADUALLY adjust my dosages (after completely weaning me off) to the correct level only through the use of cream hormone therapy. As you know, progesterone only comes in 100mg pill doses which would have damaged my health further.
At the same time my specialist was able to micro adjust my estrogen and estrodial prescription over a period of six months to find the right formula to normalize my hormones. This would have been impossible with pills. Without access to compounded hormone creams, I might not be here today.

The FDA cannot ban our bioidentical hormones! I have been taking progesterone in this form for a few years now and it changed my life. I don't feel the need to go into too much detail, but I was a wreck before I knew about it. A patient's husband called in to refill his wife's HRT Rxs and stated he'd be in to pick them up as soon as they were ready. I knew the patient from previous visits and jokingly said that's wonderful you're helping your wife get her medications, could you run a few errands for me too? He said, no you don't understand. I will gladly coordinate this medication for her every month because she tried everything prior to finding your pharmacy. You gave me back the woman I married with this medication. This was years ago, but I will never forget his comment. It made me realize how we truly do make a difference for our patients.
