I am chemically sensitive and had tried pre-made hormones for years; the patch, suppositories, oral, cream, etc. ALL of them had too many side effects for me. Every oral form (and sometimes the patches) gave me migraines. I do not even remember how I made it to the compounding version it has been so long. It took some trial and error to find the bases needed for me to tolerate this vehicle. The pharmacist was very patient with me. I think I started this at least around the age of 50 so I have been able to stick with this version for at least ten years if not more. If something happens to them I will have to give them up. Which means I may no longer be able to tolerate sex anymore either. This tiny amount of estrogen enables me to continue enjoying sex. I do not want to start over in trying different one-dose-fits-all prescription hormone medicine again. Please let me know who in the current government to contact about that if compounding hormones are going to be wiped out. I am too young to lose my sex life. Thank you. You may give my contact info to the FDA or share my testimony with them (preferably without my name shown if possible).

I suffered for about three years with vulva/vaginal problems due to menopause. During this time I used prescribed medications and steroids without much improvement. Finally I was sent to see a specialist who prescribed cBHT. A few months of treatment and I am pain free and back to feeling good again!

I would compare my before and after experience of using intra-vaginal hormonal cream to this: imagine a car running out of engine oil, with the end result that the engine eventually stops due to lack of lubrication. Then imagine a car with adequate lubrication and how it runs for many years because there is a sufficiency. My body is like that: being intimate with my husband prior to bioidentical therapy was painful and I did not look forward to the act due to the pain. I also had some bleeding due to the dryness despite using Uberlube/other personal lubricants. Bioidentical therapy has created a sustainable moisture to my vagina that has made sexual intercourse pleasant, pain-free and no bleeding. It has been a life-saver!

I was diagnosed with PMR- an autoimmune disease that caused extreme pain from the neck down to my knees. It affected my entire life. I couldn't put on my socks and could barley pick up five pounds. I lost most of my strength and muscle. My adrenal glands were not producing the hormones my body needed. After being treated by my rheumatologist with the only thing that helped-prednisone for four years, (which caused irreversible damage to my bones and eyes) I finally went to a naturopathic doctor. He tested the adrenal hormones- I had almost none, and started me on bioidentical hormones. I am no longer on prednisone and my life has improved drastically! I still take them every day. I thank God I found naturopathic assistance so I could have this alternative therapy. Please keep up the fight for what is working and helping so many.

It has been really vital for my health that my doctor has been able to prescribe bioidentical hormones in the form of precise creams. I am not able to take the oral versions as, for example, oral progesterone causes symptoms due to the oral delivery which renders me unable to take it. My quality of life was poor before I took the bioidentical hormones that were precisely geared for me by my medical doctor and compounded by the compounding pharmacy. It is alarming that I may no longer be able to get them if compounding pharmacies can no longer have access to the hormones due to this very harmful bill. Please allow compounding pharmacies, physicians, and clients to continue to access compounded bioidentical hormones.

I had a hysterectomy and ovarectomy at the age of 43 and immediately went into menopause. I began having hot flashes every two hours, day and night. My doctors gave me oral hormones (estrodial and testosterone) but they gave me migraines. I was getting between two and four hours of sleep. Finally a new doctor put me on the estrodial patch and topical testosterone. The hot flashes are much reduced. I have none during the day and am getting six hours of sleep a night. I also began to have vaginal atrophy and compounded estriol has really helped with my ability to urinate.
