In 2017, I started with a new primary care physician. I had symptoms all across the board. Upon receiving my lab results, it was determined that my hormones were imbalanced and I had hypothyroidism. The idea of taking hormones was something I swore I would never do. My doctor explained that compounded bioidentical hormones tailor made specifically for my imbalance were safe. I was skeptical about this so I went home and researched this therapy and spoke with a OB/Gyn who confirmed my doctor's belief in the safety and efficacy of this therapy and reiterated the need for them to be compounded. I have been taking them for three years. The dosage has been adjusted up and down but we finally made it right. My symptoms have dissipated. I am sleeping better, my hair loss is going away, my labs are showing normal hormone levels, my thyroid is functioning normally and the big one is my osteopenia has significantly improved to the point of being off of that spectrum. I would never have considered traditional HRT as an option...too dangerous! Thank goodness for compounded hormone therapy.
