“Imperative for those of us with sensitivities”

I use just a couple of compounded hormones, the most important being Progesterone USP, formulated singly in a clear capsule. I have genetic variations that leave me, a postmenopausal woman, susceptible to uterine cancer if I don't take progesterone along with the bio-identical estrogen patches I use. Without compounded oral progesterone, my only choice is Prometrium, which contains peanut oil, and FD&C color additives, all of which I cannot tolerate. My sister just died of uterine cancer, as, for various reasons, she decided she didn't need progesterone. That's how serious this is. Additionally, every woman on my mother's side of the family has been diagnosed with this cancer, the older ones never having access to this valuable hormone because it's a more recent prescription offering.

For those considering eliminating compounded hormones, I urge you to consider what that could do to those of us who depend on them for vibrant health. Hormone replacement has allowed me to remain vital and active. At the age of almost 70, I hike hard and fast, do backpacking, rock climb 3x/wk, and mountain run. I urge you to do your homework and learn what you can about the value of clean, unadulterated hormones, compounded specifically for individual needs.
