I was in menopause at 41 years of age.

I was in menopause at 41 years of age. At first I tried the standard Premarin pills. I was miserable. I gained weight, I retained water until my ankles and legs were continually swollen, I was moody and irritable, and my libido was nonexistent. I tried going off of HRT all together and felt even worse. I was either hot or cold all the time, I was emotional, and my libido still suffered. Then I read a book about bio identical HRT and asked my gynecologist about it. She told me to try it. I contacted a compounding pharmacy and filled my prescription. I felt so much better almost immediately, in fact, almost normal. My disposition improved immediately and my sex drive came back. I've been on cBHT for about 15 years and would really hate to give it up. It certainly changed my life for the better and gave me a more positive outlook on life. I am appalled that the government would consider taking away this valuable resource for menopausal women to improve their physical and mental health.

Hear their stories. Protect their own words. Protect their access to compounded medicines.

On this page, we can only touch on the data that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to the lives of millions of people in this country. While the decision to take this vital therapy from patients and physicians might be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies, it will be disastrous for the millions of patients that those same pharmaceutical companies cannot serve!

We encourage the appropriate committees in both the House and Senate to hold hearings on this critical issue.
