I was in late perimenopause, experiencing hot flashes, racing heart, low mood and energy, irritability, vaginal dryness and a general bleak outlook on life. I went to a traditional MD and was prescribed an anti-depressant as well as birth control pills. I have always been an advocate for my own health so I looked around to find another option besides those powerful drugs.
