I was given a full hysterectomy at age 42

I was given a full hysterectomy at age 42 as I had endometriosis. My doctor was very compassionate and recommended BHT. We started with a pellet, which was not effective enough. Next we tried patches which ended up on my husband during the night. Decided to go with estradiol for a few years before adding progesterone along with that. For several years I was taking these until my Oregon Naturopathic Dr. prescribed me these troches in 2009. I am 75 yrs young and lead a healthy vibrant life. I have always had a healthy sexual appetite and still do. I really feel without this BHT I would have shriveled up into a bitchy prune over the years. Will be happy to send you a current pic as really feel that if you took away my hormones it would be disastrous. Btw, why would the government want to restrict my BHT. Why meddle into my happy healthy life?

Hear their stories. Protect their own words. Protect their access to compounded medicines.

On this page, we can only touch on the data that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to the lives of millions of people in this country. While the decision to take this vital therapy from patients and physicians might be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies, it will be disastrous for the millions of patients that those same pharmaceutical companies cannot serve!

We encourage the appropriate committees in both the House and Senate to hold hearings on this critical issue.

Explore our interactive map that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to patients all across the country. Filter these first-hand accounts by state to see just how vital compounded medicines are.
