I was born with monorchism. I am age 40, I had extreme fatigue and trouble concentrating. My doctor prescribed a brand name gel as a testosterone replacement, but the cost after insurance was $600 a month. So I opted for a bi-weekly shot from the doctor. These created huge mood swings from being angry to lower energy. Plus, the hassle of waiting in the doctor's office an hour every two weeks for a three minute shot was just ridiculous. So we opted to do a self injection at home. The annual cost to do self injection was only $600 a year, but I continued to have the mood swings over the two week period. Finally, my nurse recommend a local pharmacy that was compounding a gel that would be about $100 a month. So I gave it a try and the mood swings went away! I am so happy to have an economical solution to a drug that impacts my life in such a meaningful way. Everything from work to home life is better when I am stable with my moods. And my concentration was become so sharp that my career at work as skyrocketed over the last decade!
