I have always had low progesterone problems, but had such a severe drop after my third child, that I had a three-month migraine (no epidural, etc. to blame it on). I did not respond to synthetic progesterone, but once I started with bioidentical progesterone, my life changed. Once I entered perimenopause and struggled with more hormone imbalances, the bioidentical troches greatly enhanced my quality of life. I am very sensitive to medications, so the ability of the compounding pharmacist to create exactly the right amount of what my body needs is something that I do NOT want to give up to Big Pharma.
