I have used bio-identical hormones for the past twenty years. I began with progesterone which helped me to balance my hormones in my early 30s. As I entered menopause, progesterone helped to prevent fibroids (which my mother suffered from) as well as heavy premenopausal bleeding and night sweats. Menopause was a breeze because I was on progesterone… I literally never had any symptoms aside from some insomnia. My friends going through menopause have suffered all symptoms including the dreaded weight gain and more than 75% have had to have at least a DNC if not a full hysterectomy. I would have been no different (based upon genetics) and what I have seen friends go through had I not been on bio-identical hormones. After menopause, I used a non- bio-identical estrogen patch… suddenly I was a mess- lots of symptoms, and it hugely affected my mood. Switched to a compounded version, and my symptoms were gone. I am happier and healthier through the use of bio-identical hormones… no weight gain, no hormonal sweating, no tears, no anxiety, no symptoms at all, and the added bonus.. my skin looks amazing. Compounding hormones are a necessity and in my opinion, no woman should do without.
