I lost my mother to ovarian cancer while in college. It was a terrible disease and her pain and suffering were completely mis-managed by her health providers.
I vowed to defy the same outcome so after my children were born and I started experiencing terrible pain symptoms I had a full hysterectomy. I had been on birth control since my mother's passing as my doctor's felt that was best. After my surgery, I needed a new path forward to help me manage my hormones.
Luckily I found some great partners in my health and I started on a regular prescription of compounded hormones. They have kept me going strong. My insurance won't pay for them given some of my unique hormone deficiencies, but I still stay the course because it works.
