When I went through menopause, my primary care physician prescribed only synthetic Estradiol from a pharmaceutical company. This seemed to help with the initial symptoms of hot flashes and night sweats for a few years but I eventually had more and more post-menopausal problems that were not being helped by the synthetic hormones. The symptoms were impacting my ability to do my job in a high tech field.
1. Foggy brain, unable to keep thoughts and plans together.
2. Constant bad moods, especially instant anger at the least provocation.
3. Memory loss, couldn't access memories when needed.
4. Hot flashes and night sweats.

I finally sought help from another provider who prescribed bio-identical hormone replacement that included the two main types of Estrogen plus some Progesterone in the correct ratios. This relieved the above symptoms completely and has continued to do so for some years now. Even though my medical insurance does not cover the cost, the cost is reasonable because it's not pharmaceutical patent drugs. I am more than happy to pay the cost out-of-pocket to get that kind of relief.

I feel I would have been unable to keep my job when experiencing the above symptoms, which synthetic Estradiol from a Pharmaceutical company did not resolve. Having access to bio-identical hormones compounded from mostly or completely plant-based sources is critical to my well-being.
