“Bio-identical compounded hormones saved me”

For years I didn’t understand why I was exhausted and unable to work full time. I was only in my late 30’s. I didn’t drink or party ate an organic and paleo diet was at a decent body weight and was otherwise healthy. Years went by… eventually in my mid 40’s, some friends suggested it could be hormone related (my conventional doctors in Boston were useless and couldn’t help), I found a hormone specialist to see who is a functional doctor in Pasadena, CA. She did blood work on me and said my testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen were basically non-existent and she asked me how I had been able to function. I told her “barely” and my quality of life was terrible. She put me on a cocktail of an estradiol patch, testosterone troches, and progesterone capsules. It took a few months to get my levels right but the results have been miraculous. My night sweats went away, my constant, debilitating hot flashes went away, my sleep improved immensely, my depression disappeared and I was able to work full time again. It had been YEARS since I felt this good. In the last 4 years since I went on Bio-identical compounded hormones, I met the love of my life, got married, started a business, and bought a home. Prior to being on these compounded meds I basically had no social life or interest in anything. It would be really awful if the FDA made these options go away. For someone like me, these really are the only viable option. My “conventional medicine” options would be an IUD or birth control pills which is ridiculous because I am in my late 40’s and in menopause now. I have tried “the pill” to manage my symptoms prior to being put on Bio-identicals and the pill made me feel awful and did not help. If anything, it created more unbearable symptoms and mood disruptions. For all the toxic meds and vaccines out there that are allowed and encouraged, it is astounding to me the FDA wants to take away meds that are good.
