I had an oophorectomy and salpingectomy during removal of a large ovarian cyst at age 49. I did not respond well to regular HRT after Estratest was removed from the market. I was prescribed the estrogen patch, which caused a painful rash everywhere I moved it, then estrogen/progesterone gel that I cannot remember the name of, then a different combination of estrogen and Prometrium, then a combo gel with not enough progesterone that resulted in a cancer developing in my uterus 20 years after the first surgery. Frustrated I was told I was too old to have HRT and to just learn to deal with it. After several months of feeling like I was losing my mind, vaginal dryness, crummy sex drive, tiredness, irritability and continuously feeling angry, I saw a naturopathic gynecologist who gave me my current regimen of compounded estrogen and progesterone and a testosterone supplement. It turned my whole world back to normal. It keeps my skin in good condition, gave me my sex drive back and generally put my life back on track. I have used compounded products since 2017 at age 71. That same physician prescribed compounded natural thyroid medication which I take also with great success.

I have been using cBHT for many years and it has made a tremendous improvement in my quality of life. I was given a full hysterectomy at age 42 as I had endometriosis. My doctor was very compassionate and recommended BHT. We started with a pellet, which was not effective enough. I've been using safe, effective, convenient compounded bio-identical hormones for 2 decades with great success. I trust my doctors and my compounding pharmacists to know what's best for me. I've experienced it, researched it, and know that it is safe. If my freedom to choose what's best for me is taken away I will go back to being a sick, rapidly aging female who will become a burden to my family and to society with numerous health issues that will be caused by my inability to access the very safe and effective medications (Hormones) that have made my quality of life so much better.
