My number one reason for switching to a compounding pharmacy is TRUST!
I have lost all trust in big pharma in light of our country's current pandemic situation.
Big pharma is all about money and making a profit, small business compounding pharmacies are about taking care of their patient's health FIRST.
I have used a compounding pharmacy for thyroid medication as well as female hormones, post-menopause.
Taking away the services provided by local compounding pharmacies would crush another facet of small business owners, as well as the community and patients they serve.
Please do not strip patients of a trustworthy alternative to chain pharmacies and big pharma!

I need my compounded hormones, I can't use hormone products that are pre-made. My quality of life will greatly suffer if compounding drugs are taken away from me. I have voted in every election, I pay detailed attention to which bills each member of Congress vote for or against. Please do not take away my access to compounding drugs.

I had breast cancer in 1996. As a result, I needed hormone replacement. There is much more chance of cancer with regular hormones so needed bio-identicals. I tried a couple of times over the years to wean off of them but my system was a wreck without them. I was a basket case! I can't imagine being without the bio-identicals. PLEASE do not take these away from us for no reason! This is politics pure and simple! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep bio-identicals!

I started compounded hormones 20 years ago. It made and has continued to make a huge impact on my health. I did not experience any of the symptoms of menopause that my other friends did... hot flashes, mood swings, weight gain, etc.
I have also had near-perfect health and physicals ever since.
The compounded hormones give the ability for a prescription to be made custom fit to just me and no one else. I believe this to be extremely important in maintaining optimal health!

I have stage 4 endometriosis and because of Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, I am completely pain-free for the first time in my life. Not only has balancing my hormones with this therapy to offset my estrogen dominance benefited me by decreasing my pain, but it has also reduced anxiety by addressing the lack of progesterone, increased my energy, helped me to maintain appropriate muscle mass, maintain my youthfulness and have a sense of overall well - being. The only good reason for the FDA to consider a ban on this is because they are corrupt and do not want people to have good health. I consider them criminals. Prove me wrong.

In the interests of brevity, I will simply refer to the symptoms above as the reason for my seeking HRT. Initially, I explored allopathic offerings and was disgusted and dismayed to find that replacement estrogen was likely to have been manufactured from horse urine, not a substance you want in the human body, never mind the way it is extracted from the mare! I have subsequently been using bio-identical, transdermal hormones for some years now. They work. No more brain fog, better sleep, less irritability, in other words, better functioning overall. The only probable reason Big Pharma wants to ban them is that they occupy a niche in the industry that Big Pharma would rather be accessed by overly expensive drugs. Big Pharma always want more regulation, which inevitably seems to boost their excessive profits. This is a service that should not be discontinued. Bio-identicals are, to use a familiar phrase, truly 'safe and effective' when used as prescribed; independent studies verify that fact. Incidentally, I pay for them out of my own pocket; insurance is not involved.

Before getting on hormone therapy, I was always in a bad mood and grouchy. I didn’t know why, once I found out the problem, I got started on my hormone therapy regimen. In a matter of weeks, life was good again. I tried the standard methods before switching to the bio-identicals and they gave me migraine headaches. I will stay on the compounded hormone therapy to keep me sane.

I noticed as I was aging I was not only tired all of the time, but my skin, my sex drive, and my body were not able to keep up with the normal routine and workload I had. I was getting brain fog, unable to concentrate and I was experiencing depression. I expressed my concerns to my gynecologist. She suggested I try a compound cream of testosterone 4mg and a progesterone pill to help. I could not believe the difference they have made in my life... I am the main provider in my household and would not be able to function on a day-to-day basis. Please consider all of the people in this country like me who have to function to survive in life. We depend on these compound medications for our mental and physical survival.

I'm a forensic science technician, a job that requires superlative memory skills. 10 years ago I started having memory issues that negatively affected my job performance. After exhaustive testing, it was determined the memory issues stemmed from a hormonal imbalance. Premarin was prescribed. After taking Premarin for several months, there was no noticeable improvement in memory, however, there were many unpleasant side effects that, ultimately, could not be tolerated. After Premarin was terminated, cBHT was prescribed; the change was noticeable after only a few weeks. My memory improved, I was able to continue working at the highest level and there were no side effects. For the public and for the law enforcement agencies I serve, as well as for me, cBHT was and is a lifesaver.

Please do not ban compounded pharmaceuticals- this has done so much good for me, I can’t even express it. It has been a lifeline that, if you ban them, would disappear. My apothecary hormones have helped me be more productive at work, have more energy, and be able to participate in life again. Due to my many sensitivities to additives, compounded pharmaceuticals, more specifically, hormones are so important to my quality of life. So much so, that I’m willing to pay more for the compounded version. Please don’t let big pharma control everything - give Americans the freedom of choice in their healthcare.

I have been prescribed compounded hormones for two years to help treat gender dysphoria as diagnosed by multiple healthcare professionals. It would be a great detriment to my health if compounded hormones were restricted in any way; as these treatments have been lifesaving for me and I’m sure many other people as well.

At age 50 I went to a new doctor for the first time. I had just spent four months as the primary caregiver for my mother who had just died of cancer. While caring for her I read Suzanne Summer's book Knock Out and in it the chapter about Dr. Wright's amazing work with bio-identical hormones to prevent breast cancer.

The hormone tests revealed that I would benefit from compounded Biest, and Progesterone, which I started using immediately. I was pre-menopause and as a result of taking these compounded bio-identical hormones formulated just for me, I sailed through menopause without a sleepless night or a hot flash. Additionally, I believe that menopause created the onset of anxiety and depression in both of my sisters. Because my hormones continue to be balanced by my compounded prescriptions, I am free of the depression and anxiety medications that my sister must take.

I started to get hot flashes in my 40's, and they increased to 3 to 4 an hour. I would be talking to a customer and the sweat was rolling down my face and dripping off my nose.
With the hormones, my hot flashes have diminished to a few a day and sometimes one at night. It has made my life so much better. I also get a good night's sleep now.

I'm a healthy 59-year-old female. I've been using Testosterone Pellet every three months for the last seven years and never had any issues. I do all the necessary labs and mammograms as needed by my gynecologist. Menopause has never been a problem either. My testosterone pellet and my estrogen pill have relieved all my symptoms I feel human and happy in life. I'm very active and eat healthily. All the negative reviews you read about Pellets I've never experienced any of those.
So to my representative in Congress please reach out to the FDA on my behalf for us to continue to receive the Pellets. It's not fair when we are healthy and a product is helping us substantially and the FDA thinks they can control what we put into our bodies. What do we have to do to stop this insanity of making it unavailable??? I was truly suffering from perimenopausal symptoms and then menopause. I had no sense of well-being at all. I wasn’t sleeping well. I was having continual hot flashes throughout the day and night. It was an absolute nightmare. Then my doctor literally saved my life. I went on bio-identical hormones. It changed my life. Now you’re telling me they are going to be unavailable!!! Are you for real? I am so angry and completely disgusted! All about greed and money! I am in a complete state of disbelief! PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO WOMEN! This is unconscionable!

Using compounding medications for 20 years without using compounded hormones I would be unable to find medication without fillers that I am allergic to. Also, pharmacies are constantly changing generics, and the fillers and coatings they use caused me to nearly be hospitalized because they didn’t digest properly and more medication was taken before it all kicked in. I could have died. Compounding is the only safe and consistent way to get the medication you need every month. To remove this vital option from people is to cause pain and suffering and it will only fill the pockets of greedy pharmaceutical companies bigger than they are. Especially when people get sicker and have to have more and more medication because what they’re taking is actually making them sick. You have no right to take this away from the American people. 

Compounded hormones changed my life. I could not tolerate the side effects of traditional HRT. Even trying all the different brands and doses didn’t agree with me. I needed relief from the hot flashes and night sweats, insomnia, and vaginal dryness.

Taking compounded bio-identical hormone replacement therapy has improved my health and well-being. My moods are more even, my sleep more regular, and my sex life more enjoyable, not to mention the added benefits to my bones and heart, my increased energy level, and greater elasticity of my skin.
I appreciate that I can have a blood test, and the hormone levels can be adjusted for me personally; the compounded formula has been "tweaked" twice in the last 2 years to accommodate my body's personal hormone levels. I would never want to take a one-size-fits-all prescription pill made of another animal's urine that doesn't account for my personal biology and came with numerous known side effects. We are not all the same!
Please continue to allow us personal choice, directed by my physician, to determine which bio-identical hormones are right for ME, and continue to allow compounding pharmacies to make our personal formulas.

For over 20 years I struggled with heavy and painful periods, thin nails that wouldn’t grow well, thin hair that fell out of my head easily and at certain times in chunks. For around 10 years I struggled with depression which the regular doctors kept trying to treat with antidepressant medications that would help a bit for a short time and continue to have to be increased.
