I can't say enough about how it has changed my life. Since 2011, I've been taking testosterone in a pellet form. I appreciate being able to get the appropriate low dose of the least risky type of estrogen (c-Estriol).
And, I have had good results (relief from painful intercourse) with only twice weekly use of the vaginal suppositories that my Naturopath prescribes. Regular strength prescription and over the counter estrogens are too strong. Also, the type of estrogen (estradiol) in them poses too much of a cancer risk.

I have been using cBHT for close to 15 years. I am now 64. I started to use them to ease into menopause, and it worked. I didn't experience all the side effects I thought I would during menopause. I was able to work with my doctor to tweak the cBHT to suit me personally and over the years I have never felt better. I feel so much younger and have a great libido into my middle 60's. I began BHRT following my hysterectomy 11 years ago. It changed my life for the better. It stopped my hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and vaginal dryness. I've had bone-density tests taken and the BHRT seems to have provided some protective effects in that area as well. I did not respond well to traditional creams and hormone therapy. My body only responded to bioidentical hormone replacement. For patients like myself, there is no alternative. Please continue to allow BHRT to be available.

I had a very irregular and painful period. Birth control pills drove me crazy because of the amount of estrogen. I did my research while in perimenopause and knew I was going to select BHRT if I had symptoms during menopause. The conventional HRT has proven to be dangerous (horse urine, really?). Sure enough, as soon as I stopped taking estrogen through my birth control, I experienced hot flashes, loss of hair...etc. So my doctor prescribed a small dose of BHRT and we had to tweak it several times until my symptoms disappeared. I decided not to go with pellets due to the inconvenience of having to go regularly and have someone implant something in me, or the cream (messy) so I chose troches compounded for me and it's the best decision I took. I sleep well, no hot flashes or night sweats, no hair loss and I feel great! One size fits all medicine is outdated - compounding pharmacies are a must.

The main reason bioidentical hormones are so important to me is because they are crafted based on my individual physical makeup and testing of my exact levels in my body. The standard hormone replacement therapies were all standard doses of the individual hormones. Throughout the years, my doses have been adjusted based on my body changes. I have been on this compounded therapy for about 20 years and have felt that my quality of physical life has been maintained. I also feel that there are fewer risks of cancer causing side effects with the bioidenticals. I would hate to see this option removed from a patient/doctor.
