I began bioidentical HRT at the suggestion of my OBGYN, after I completed a saliva analysis. These results suggested to my doctor that I could be helped with my symptoms of being premenopausal. In fact, the creams did decrease my symptoms. I have continued on different forms of this therapy for 20 years. Of course, I have continued to monitor what level of HRT therapy is right for me at different times in my life. I believe that this level of individualized care has aided me in being as healthy and functional as I now am. I have heard many stories from my patients who have either used non-bioidentical pills and/or pellets. I feel fortunate to have doctors that understand the value of this form of treatment/supplementation.

Over seven years ago, I had to have my ovaries, tubes, uterus and cervix removed due to severe medical issues and potential risks of cancer. Thus, the need for hormone replacement therapy. I have pellet treatments four times a year. There are no side effects. The horrible mood swings, hot flashes and night sweats are gone. The mood swings were the worst prior to the surgery and the start of the cBHT. I was horrible to family, friends and co-workers. I work with my doctor and we adjust the hormones as needed. Having access to the pure form of the hormones makes this balancing so much easier; again with no side affects or potential for cancer due to unneeded chemicals that are in other medications. I will never take a pharmaceutical version of hormone therapy.

I started to experience these negative problems and could not fly, or do my job effectively. I was a mess. I am almost 68 years old. cBHT has had a positive effect on my overall well-being. It also eliminated pain upon intercourse and made a great improvement on my overall ability of my body to function sexually.
I put a high value on the personalized accurate doses of the different hormones that can be adjusted after each blood test. I do not like the one-size-fits-all pharmaceutical hormones that are available. We are all different individuals with different needs and balancing the different kinds of hormones and ratios is very important to me. So I would really hate to lose this mode of treatment. I do not believe that the FDA has the best interest of people in mind. They have people working for them that benefit from Big Pharma etc. If the test shows that there is no harm, then I do not see why this should be eliminated. People know what works for them or not.
