I began taking the compound BIEST/PROGEST as a suggestion from my family doctor for menopausal hormone replacement. I took it for several years and decided to stop. After about two weeks, I realized that I needed to take the compound and begin again. Even though insurance does not pay, I gladly pay for the compound.

If it was not for BHT I do not know how I would function. Before starting this 10 years ago, I had no energy, was very moody, very anxious, and depressed all the time. I know it gave me my life back. I personally believe this as helped me tremendously.

“Without this very important medication I would have been ope...”
Without this very important medication I would have been open to possible Estrogen based cancer. I spent most of my 40's dealing with Estrogen based fibroids and endometriosis. Having procedure after procedure and lots of pain. I also have multiple allergies and am unable to take many medications. The only option for me is compounded bioidentical hormone therapy. Eliminating this type of therapy would put women's health back into the era when women getting cancer more frequently was associated with menopause. We would not have bone protection and quite frankly function the same way that we are able to now. This medication is a choice between a woman and her doctor and the government should stay of out of this. It is already bad enough that my insurance company will not pay for this safer alternative for me. I must pay out of pocket. I am not talking $1.00 or $2.00 dollars, I am talking about $100.00/month. Insurance companies pay for erectile dysfunction medication, but not to individually protect women and give them quality of life as they age. This is just more evidence of the inequality women have in society.

My doctor suggested cBHT as she said it would help with my bones as well as my sleep. I have not had my bones checked, but the cBHT is definitely helping my sleep.

“I have been using cBHT in a cream form twice daily for seven...”
I have been using cBHT in a cream form twice daily for seven years to keep my male hormone levels in balance. When I was in my late 40's, I had gone through many of the problems with symptoms that were due to my extremely low levels of Testosterone. It was like they fell off of a cliff. I could not sleep, I had a racing heart, I would sweat all the time, my strength was depleting, my drive was waning, and mentally I was in a fog and doubting myself. When my doctor began the regimen to bring my hormone numbers (Testosterone, Estrogen, Pregnenalone, and DHEA) into balance through a twice daily topical cream, I began to feel better and function again. I am so thankful to have had a doctor who prescribed this course of action for me and educated me on all aspects of taking this prescription. We monitor my health closely through blood tests twice a year. I recommend researching this therapy to my friends when they encounter this type of health difficulty. Please feel free to contact me if you need any help to keep this medical option available to everyone.

“I started taking cBHT in my late forties. I was experiencing...”
I started taking cBHT in my late forties. I was experiencing yeast infections, weight gain, low libido, and fatigue. I did a saliva test that revealed I was estrogen dominant. I started taking 20 mg. of progesterone cream daily. Within a month my yeast infections cleared and I began to feel better. I added 10 mg. of DHEA to help with weight gain and fatigue which did resolve. In six months I did another saliva test which showed both my estrogen and progesterone levels were balanced. In my early fifties I developed menopausal symptoms, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia due to the night sweats. A saliva test revealed my estrogen was low. I was prescribed a low dose of estrogen to help bring relief to the hot flashes and night sweats, they decreased considerably. I was able to sleep through the night. Today, I'm in my sixties still supplementing with cBHT to keep my levels balanced.

I started taking hormones in my 40's when I started I have some perimenopause symptoms. I was having trouble sleeping and heavy flows. I was not feeling good. I have noticed substantial improvement through the years and continue to take them as I approach 60. I would not want to be without my bioidentical hormones. They have been the single most important thing I have done in my life for my health. I continue to have a healthy lifestyle of skiing and mountain biking due to my decision to take hormones. I am mentally and physically very healthy.

When the women's study of Premarin declared that Premarin was harmful, I went off it. I then had hot flashes every 35 minutes day and night. After many tries, I am on a bioidentical Biest (not the usual triest) compounded with other hormones including much needed DHEA. The biest formula has stopped my hot flashes and left me feeling well after several years of misery. DO NOT take this valuable tool away from me. I need the precise dosage I am getting now.

Entering into perimenopause, I could not sleep. My progesterone levels were low as most of my hormones - I was able to use bioidentical hormones to balance them and remain on the oral progesterone to sleep and help with anxiety. I could not live without it. Please do not take this from those who need it.

Compared to girlfriend's similar age, peri and post menopausal, I do not suffer joint aches, insomnia, irritability, hot flashes that they experience which I attribute to compounded bioidentical hormones. Also, my doctor and I chose this path for cardiac protection.

I began estrogen in coconut oil for chronic perineal pain and chronic urinary tract infections which eventually lead to my having to retire early. I cannot tolerate estrogen in any other base than coconut oil. The topical therapy has changed the PH of my perineal area which discourages bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. I have had none since I started the therapy. Also, it has lead to a COMPLETE HEALING OF MY CHRONIC PAIN in that area. I cannot believe powers greater than myself would ever consider taking this medication from me.

After a total hysterectomy I was put on an estradiol patch, but found that I was still having some unpleasant symptoms. My OBGYN doctor recommended a testosterone/progesterone cream compounded by a local compounding chemist. We have tweaked the dosage over the years, but I have been thrilled with the results. Insurance has never paid for it, and it is a financial strain on our budget, but we have paid out of pocket for it for over 20 years because of its effectiveness. Please do not let the FDA take this away from me!

“I spent two years in the most pain I was ever in, in my life...”
I spent two years in the most pain I was ever in, in my life. Finally after going to six different doctors I went out of the area (500 miles) to a doctor that I was diagnosed with Vulvodynua, and I.C. Within one month of using creams, atropine, estradiol and amit-baclocen the pain subsided. Since I was remarried five years prior to this issue, hormones were a blessing in our relationship. Now I see an endocrinologist and I'm now taking progesterone, and do not need Ambien to sleep. I have severe O.A. and have three back fusion shoulder replacements coming up in a month. I am going to use hormones to build back or at least slow this progression of OA. Without compounds I would be alone and in a wheelchair by now. Please don't mess with these compounds.

I have psoriasis in the peri-anal area and I have extreme sensitivity to creams and lotions in that area. I had age-related atrophy in the vaginal and clitoris area which prevented me from having sexual intercourse with my husband because the structural damage caused extreme pain. The compounded hormone medicine did not irritate my skin and reversed the atrophy, enabling me to resume intercourse with my husband without pain. I am very grateful to be intimate with my husband again.

As a retired RN, I have pursued ointment and gels for my post menopausal symptoms. My treatment for
the symptoms related to menopause have been chosen for the effectiveness. The symptoms without compounded hormonal therapy present me with a high risk of malignancy which demonstrate compounded hormonal therapy is essential for my life and health. I have chosen these therapies since traditional therapies have failed. Please consider the importance of these medications. Thank you.
