I began to have problems like depression and anxiety about 11 years ago. I went to a physician and had yearly tests done - blood work, etc. She recommended trying the transdermal hormones. I purchased a saliva test and the results showed that I was deficient in several hormones. I began taking very small amounts of two hormones. Within a week, I felt surprisingly better. I couldn't believe the difference. I am required to have blood work, a mammogram, and a physical checkup every year to monitor. I have never had any problems at all since 2009. I would really not feel as well as I do without the small amount of hormones I use. I hope these compounded hormones are not discontinued.

I would not be who I am without hormone replacement. At a senior age I am still lecturing, writing books and teaching continuing medical education courses to docs and pharmacists, as well as initiating a new renal center at a clinic in Florida. And I am going to be 72 next month. I had breast cancer 28 years ago and if I listened to my doctors, I would be shriveled up by now. Also, I got the breast cancer from the medication given to my mother my doc's in the 40's (DES) so I have learned that just because something is standard of care, doesn't mean it's safe. I consult with women and their doctors around the world about hormone safety, delivery and health. Hormone health and replacement is the most powerful anti-aging Medicare sparing tool we have. But it is not just administered within several doses. It is often a nuanced journey to get the individualized dosages and even bases optimal and appropriate for each woman. At the age of 55 I went from not sleeping well to sleeping well. That alone is the only reason needed to support my use of cBHT. However, there are so many other reasons. I take 50/50 of estriol/estradiol that is so protective over many parts of my body. I take testosterone as well. The combined protective aspects on the brain is vital for me. They have also helped my anxiety levels reduce considerably. Not being able to use cBHT would have a huge negative impact on my life and most certainly lead to shorter longevity.

When I first began cBHT treatment in premenopause, it solved my fibroid problem (heavy bleeding) and fibrocystic breasts, which kept me from having any surgery. I have continued my treatment for over 20 years...well past menopause. I've always been prescribed the least dose that would be beneficial. I definitely have a much better quality of life because of it! I sleep well, have less anxiety and improved mood, increased energy and better immune function, etc. I am almost 70 and plan to continue the hormone treatment as long as possible.

I have been using bioidentical hormones for close to 20 years. This has been a protection against osteoporosis for me. I had an issue with reoccurring bladder infections 20 years ago. Since using the compounded estriol suppositories, I have not had one bladder infection. I have never had any adverse reactions from these compounded hormones. I am pleased that I am able to have the bioidentical hormones available to maintain hormonal balance in my body without any side effects.

I had a pulmonary embolism in 2011 and therefore cannot take the standard hormone replacements. I also have some other meds that cant be taken with standard replacements. The cream I have is the only thing I can use for vaginal dryness and would negatively impact my quality of life.

I have found that anything synthetic affects me badly or not at all. I first noticed my problem with synthetics with fragrances and later when I was treated with Synthroid for hyopthyriodism. I noticed that I felt even better when my prescription was switched from Naturthroid to Armour Thyroid. My body just cannot handle anything synthetic.
