Everyone should have the right to have access to the best therapy for their body. In some cases, over-the-counter supplements may work. But in millions of cases, cBHT is the best choice. In my case, I have suffered with hormonal imbalances since my 20's. Perimenopause was brought on early, I am hypothyroid and now am experiencing hormonal changes every day since my body can't decide if it is going into menopause or not. These things make it extremely hard to lead an normal life. I am suffering from joint pain and stiffness, heart palpitations, having hot flashes one minute and freezing the next. I can't sleep through the night and am experiencing weight gain. If it weren't for cBHT, I would have no semblance of a life. If I didn't have the medications, I don't think I would have made it out of bed most days. People need options and hope. cBHT offers both and should be accepted as a necessary component to a healthy life.

I had a complete hysterectomy in 2008 at 43 years old. Two years later, I could hardly walk because the joint pain was so bad and the menopause symptoms were horrible. Two weeks after I started my pellet hormone replacement, the symptoms were completely gone and the joint pain was gone. I have been on the treatment for seven years and it changed my life! I would be in a wheel chair by now if I had not been able to get this treatment.

I use compounded hormones for vaginal dryness, atrophy, and bladder spasms, along with low energy, insomnia, mood swings, and thyroiditis. It has made a huge difference in the quality of my life. I was allergic to the base in Premarin (extreme burning) and compounding allowed me to find a base that my body accepted. In addition I have gastric issues, so using oral pharmaceutical hormones were not a good delivery method. In addition, I suffered nausea and elevated blood pressure while using pharmaceuticals. Further, using compounded hormones derived from plants has given me less concern regarding cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular risks. Using hormones that are natural and compounded have allowed me to find the dosage that works specifically for my body thus helping alleviate symptoms without negative side effects because the dosing is so specific and personal. My thyroid inflammation has been reduced while being on a compounded medication that was specific to my needs. The quality of my life has been drastically improved by having compounded medications available! Even though I pay out of pocket for these medications, I am very thankful to have the choice to manage my health along with a qualified MD with additional functional medical certification.

This hormone therapy is SO ESSENTIAL to so many women post menopause. It is prohibitively expensive without the cost cutting of compounding pharmacies. 10 years ago, when cBHT cream was first prescribed to me, I checked with my local pharmacy and I was aghast at its cost and the fact that insurance does not cover it. I was so uncomfortable without it that I really was at my wits end. Then my doctor told me about the compounding pharmacy and sent in my prescription. This is the only medication I take on a regular basis although I am a senior citizen, and although I cannot understand why it is not covered by medicare, I can afford it thanks to the compounding pharmacy.

I am a senior citizen (71 years) with a prolapsed uterus. With the help of a doctor at NVRH and ultimately at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, I was able to avoid surgery (hysterectomy). This is important to me as I have had a total hip replacement and extensive shoulder surgery in the last few years.
The alternative took several tries with various vaginal pessaries. Initially, they were difficult to insert and remove due to a decrease in natural lubrication. I bled each time and the discomfort was very disagreeable. The physician's nurse practitioner prescribed Estriol. It helps enormously in coping with my medical problem and being able to return to a life without pain and inconvenience. I understand that this is a medication that I will use long-term.

I started taking this drug on the advise of my urogynecologist after having many years of very frequent bladder infections. I had done everything he had suggested and nothing seemed to stop them. I do not like to take medicine unless it is a last resort, so I reluctantly agreed to try this. His purpose in giving me the drug was to increase the condition of the vaginal tissues to help prevent the infections. I take one gram twice a week. IT WORKS. I have gone almost two years without a bladder infection or bladder spasms I was having. I have a pessery and have it checked and cleaned every 4-5 months and he has reported that the tissues are much more healthy than they have been in the past. I feel very comfortable taking this as I am checked frequently for any signs of problems and it has improved my life. I wish to continue taking this drug.

After going though menopause, my body rejected me. I keep my weight down, workout five days a week, and am very active at 63. I have been happily married for over 35 years and have three sons. I want to enjoy my retirement with my husband and that includes being intermit with him. So many of us need this, so please don't take it away from us. I don't understand why you would stop making it, for all that women have done and this is how you want to treat us. Please don't.

My doctor recommended I strengthen the vaginal walls to better support a pessary and to decrease minor lesions that occur from its presence. I had a contact dermatitis reaction to a standard hormone cream, not from the active ingredient, but from something it was mixed into. The compounding pharmacist mixes estradiol into a base that we know I am not allergic to. I have been using it for only two months and have already seen improvement.

For nine months, I felt like I was slowly dying. I didn't know what was wrong. I was put on anxiety/depression medication. This probably caused more problems. But it wasn't just mentally. I felt as if I had the flu every single day. It was impossible to live my life as it should be. I was fatigued, but could not sleep. Every day was a nightmare. I got to the point that if I did sleep, I didn't care if I ever woke up.
Until going to see yet again a new person (Advanced Reg Nurse) for a new look at anxiety/depression medication. After visiting he suggested I get my hormones checked. I'm 55 and no one had thought of this before. Two days ago I started a cream compound for Estrogen and Testosterone and an oral compound for Progesterone. Already I can absolutely feel a difference. I truly can't believe it. I feel hope again. I want to live again. Being that this is very new to me, I still have so much to learn. But I'm begging, PLEASE don't take this away from us. I will tell you it's saving lives. I would not be here if I thought I had to live like I was before. Compound hormones are like a miracle for women.

As a teenager and into my twenties, I dealt with a lot of the classic hormonal and thyroid symptoms. I was moody, irritable, tired all the time, suffered terrible PMS and more. Then I discovered that these could be attributed to hormonal imbalance and low thyroid. Since starting on compounded bioidenticals to treat these issues, my life has been changed for the better.
