At the age of 39 I was post-menopausal and diagnosed with osteoporosis. After an 11 year journey of seeing various specialists, completing five years of Fosamax, making changes to my diet, strength training, reading every possible book/journal article regarding osteoporosis, I finally saw a functional medicine doctor who suggested bioidentical hormones. For the past 12 years my bone density has decreased with each Dexascan. After only SIX MONTHS on bioidentical hormones I had my very first positive increase in bone density in both my spine and hips! I cried with happiness when I learned of my results. This has given me a new lease on life and a way to avoid prescription medications like Prolia which have very adverse side effects on most patients. I tried Prolia for several days and suffered decapacitating headaches and had to stop the drug. I would have been thrilled with the increase in bone density alone, but on top of that I also feel better overall, both physically and emotionally. Because I was so young when I went through menopause the beneficial side effects of these hormones have been a most welcome bonus. I so appreciate the fact that my doctor follows me closely with bloodwork regularly to make sure my dosage is appropriate to my body. Synthetic hormones would not give me this ability to be certain I am getting the exact proportions that are best for my bone health. I am beyond thankful for these bioidentical hormones. To see increases in bone density after so many years of bad Dexascans has given me so much hope for a stronger and healthier future.

Hear their stories. Protect their own words. Protect their access to compounded medicines.

On this page, we can only touch on the data that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to the lives of millions of people in this country. While the decision to take this vital therapy from patients and physicians might be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies, it will be disastrous for the millions of patients that those same pharmaceutical companies cannot serve!

We encourage the appropriate committees in both the House and Senate to hold hearings on this critical issue.
