After many years of fatigue, my Primary MD diagnosed me with FMS and CFS in 2003 - but my hormone levels (when even checked), were always deemed "in range". I finally went to a MD/Naturopath in 2005, when I could barely sleep or function during the day. She did in-depth blood screening, and began cBHT Thyroid replacement therapy - what a complete and positive change for my whole body, to receive T3/T4 compounded to my own body's needs! Because of the overlap of symptoms from FMS/CFS and Hypothyroidism, prescribing the T3 was the best thing to help my body recover! Since my hormone levels recovered, I have managed my FMS/CFS pain and fatigue with only eight hour Tylenol as added medication (not exactly great to take daily for more than twenty years now, but better than the prescribed painkillers and "sleep aids" I started with). I've also used small prescriptions of cBHT Testosterone Cream, and Progesterone Cream - both short term until my hormone levels were within range. After menopause 10 years ago, I monitored my changing hormone levels, but decided not to use any cBHT creams at that time - an option that would have been tailored to my own body, if I'd chosen that path. Over time, I've also discovered intense latex and latex protein allergies (almost every fruit & vegetable), as well as sulfa/sulfur/sulfates/sulfites - so even my vitamin supplements are closely scrutinized for their current and updated ingredients, as well as any antibiotics or other medications prescribed by my regular primary MD. Therefore, in addition to receiving medication specially tailored to my own body's needs, I am able to screen out any allergens - something not possible with any large Pharmaceutical Company - and the reason that Compounding Pharmacies exist. For the past 16 years, I've continued my individualized cBHT Thyroid replacement with a compounding pharmacy, and pray I'll always have that right.

Hear their stories. Protect their own words. Protect their access to compounded medicines.

On this page, we can only touch on the data that demonstrates the importance of compounded medicines to the lives of millions of people in this country. While the decision to take this vital therapy from patients and physicians might be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies, it will be disastrous for the millions of patients that those same pharmaceutical companies cannot serve!

We encourage the appropriate committees in both the House and Senate to hold hearings on this critical issue.
