I was 60 when I began compounded hormones. I was experiencing many symptoms of aging and compounded hormones were recommended. One time I went off the compound and just forgot to start it back up. After about 5 days, I started to experience brain fog, terrible forgetfulness, and lethargy. I did realize it was the fact that I was off the hormones and my symptoms. I was beginning to worry I might have dementia. At some point, after about a month I realized I had not been using my estradiol cream. My pharmacist confirmed my symptoms were due to discontinued use of compound cream. I started back up and the symptoms went away. I sleep so much better due to my compounds. I pray you don't take this away from us. You will have some very upset women out there.

Pre-Menopausal at age 47. I couldn’t get out of bed. I was completely exhausted. I sought advice from two of my doctors and they put me on a low dose of birth control. That did not work. Using compounding medications for 20 years without using compounded hormones I would be unable to find medication without fillers that I am allergic to. Also, pharmacies are constantly changing generics, and the fillers and coatings they use caused me to nearly be hospitalized because they didn’t digest properly and more medication was taken before it all kicked in. I could have died. Compounding is the only safe and consistent way to get the medication you need every month. To remove this vital option from people is to cause pain and suffering and it will only fill the pockets of greedy pharmaceutical companies bigger than they are. Especially when people get sicker and have to have more and more medication because what they’re taking is actually making them sick. You have no right to take this away from the American people.

I was suffering.. from debilitating anxiety and panic, Raynaud's disease, massive bone loss, hair loss, sleep disorder, thyroid dysfunction, and was prescribed potent pharmaceuticals that could not help me. I am hypothyroid for 20 years. I was prescribed Synthroid, then Levothyroxine, and neither improved my symptoms. Then I was prescribed Armor Thyroid, then Natural Thyroid and my symptoms persisted. It wasn't until I was prescribed a compounded prescription of a balanced formula or T3 and T4 - the exact mcg that my body was missing - that my symptoms resolved. I pay a premium for this medication as commercial insurance and Medicare do not cover a clinical compound. But I am willing to pay for a prescription that actually works for me and relieves my hypothyroid symptoms. My Thyroid will not respond to pharmaceutical company artificial formulas.

Low testosterone levels were affecting my quality of life. Tired, loss of muscle mass, poor mood, poor sleep were a result of below minimum bio-available testosterone. Testosterone in and of itself would be helpful but additional medications (DHEA, DPAC) are necessary to keep hormonal balance and my body producing its own hormones. This reduces the chance of any additional issues or a need to increase other medications, including testosterone, as my body adapts to the testosterone shots.
