I am 70 years of age and have been using compounded hormones for seven years. At age 45 I had to have a hysterectomy. Thank goodness, my doctor at the time was knowledgeable enough to recommend the bio-identical hormones to help with abrupt side effects from the surgery. I did a lot of reading and research myself and I found comfort in knowing the bio-identical hormones were much safer to take. Over the 17 years since my surgery, I have moved several times and I’ve always had to search for a doctor who will prescribe them, even being over an hour away, because that’s how important it is to my well-being. I will definitely not ever take regular hormones and if the bio-identical gets restricted or banded, I will not sleep, will gain weight, get hot flashes and be a miserable moody person for sure!

Prior to starting my HRT journey with compounded hormones, I was a mess mentally and physically. My doctor started me on my current regimen provided by a compounding pharmacy, and I haven’t felt this good in a long dang time. Please don’t take this away from us.

I had bilateral ovarian cysts with torsion in my early thirties after having two children. Surgery to remove the cysts left me in early menopause. I researched the benefits of bio-identical hormone replacement and successfully began daily use of HRT, compounded from a trustworthy pharmacy. I have been able to maintain my quality of life for almost twenty years with the use of compounded hormone replacement therapy.

In 2014 my thyroid went haywire. I had developed a toxic nodule that caused my thyroid to become overactive. There are a litany of symptoms that go along with this condition and it makes one miserable. Once diagnosed, on the recommendation of an Endocrinologist, my thyroid was treated with radioactive iodine, rendering me hypothyroid for the remainder of my life. Thyroid medications were prescribed and helped some of the symptoms, but I still felt awful. My doctor prescribed a compounded, time released Liothyronine (T3) medication, to go along with my other thyroid medications, and within 30 days I was feeling better. Within 60 days I was myself again. It would be tragic if our government restricted use of these kinds of medications. My doctor also prescribed compounded B12 injections due to a deficiency, a condition that a supplement didn't help.

Compounded Hormones changed my life from depressed, moody, with hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and irritable all the time back to a normal person with none of the above symptoms anymore.
My quality of life has changed so much…I am able to sleep and I have the energy to do my work again and with a clear mind.
I cannot imagine having to go back to those days before I found the wonderful doctor who prescribed the Compounded hormones I am using now.

I am concerned about the FDA restricting my access to a Customized Compounded Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy that’s been described by the doctor.

I have benefited immensely from this prescribed therapy from my Doctor, and I could not accept the FDA limiting my access to Customized Compounded Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy.

I have been using compounded estrogen for many years as I am trying to eliminate chemicals from my food & medicines. The U. N. Environment Programme has determined that parabens are an endocrine disruptor & are banned in Europe. Please don't take this option & alternative medicine away!
