I was diagnosed with Hashimotos when I was 29 back in the late 1980's. Following protocol, my doctor prescribed Synthroid. Within a couple months, I became so ill I ended up needing a thyroidectomy. Looking back, doctors realized that additives in Synthroid caused my thyroid to balloon in size. Levothyroxine also caused me problems. With compounded thyroid replacement hormone, my immune systems has regained some semblance of calmness. I was able to hold down a job without the need of medications to control my pain. My "brain fog" diminished. I even published several books. Now I can't get my hormone replacement and I'm again experiencing pain, aching joints, emotional swings and brain fog. Please allow compounded hormones to become available again!

The combination of testosterone and hcg has helped tremendously with my quality of life and several important bio markers of health have improved. I am taking two compounded hormone medications, and they have improved my quality of life tremendously. As a woman who has dealt with hypothyroidism for over 20 years and is now going through menopause I can tell you that traditional medicine has failed me. My thyroid was never really under control. I’ve never been checked for this by any of my medical doctors. A lot of my symptoms have been alleviated through therapeutic blood donation and my levels are now within range. My hormone and thyroid levels are also finally in optimal range -all of them not just some of them. For the first time in a really long time I feel good. I’m starting to get my energy back, my hair has stopped falling out, I’m not depressed. I am begging, begging you to please let things be for people like me who weren’t getting answers from traditional medicine. I believe in traditional medicine but I’m telling you in these areas it was not working for me and I am begging you on behalf of others I know like me and myself to just leave well enough alone. Let it be covered by our insurance. I’m fortunate enough that my husband has a good job and I can pay out of pocket but so many people can’t and I fear the day will come that I can’t pay for it. Compounded medicine and hormone replacement creams are very important to me. Please listen to people who are dealing with this in a personal level!

I have never been more healthy taking bioidentical hormones . I sleep better and my blood work is a thousand times better than anything that is unnatural. Bioidentical hormones is made from yams . I don’t think the need to take something so healthy away from the public unless there is some serious corruptness involved.

I had been taking estrogen and progesterone for about 4 years for vaginal atrophy. I'm 69 now. When I arrived in this country (from Canada) the gynecologists immediately put me off all hormones stating that I was "too old".
I knew that I was not too old, that I was low risk for blood clots and breast cancer and there was absolutely no reason for me to wean off.
I reluctantly followed her instructions, thinking that every gynaecologist would be of the same mind-set, and found myself back in full blown Menopause; sleepless nights, hot flashes, irritability, depression. It was hell!

Finally I took matters into my own hands and searched on-line for a gynaecologist who would prescribe hormones. She was a delight. Not only did she tell me I could go back on hormones, she advised that I take the compound formula. The reason being that I found the manufactured estrogen too strong, even after cutting down the dosage. I use a compounded cream that is specifically compounded to my needs. I cannot get this medicine anywhere else. The price of this medication is reasonable and affordable. Restricting, regulating or totally removing compounded medications is unethical and absurd. For the FDA to go after a bioidentical hormones that are natural though nature isn't fair. Leave my medications alone. Please.

Before BHRT I was always tired. Didn’t have energy to play with my daughter. My mood wasn't great and that was affecting all my relationships. After my third child was born my thyroid was broken, my doctor prescribed and I’ve seen the large amount of thyroid and I was very nervous and jittery and my heart was pounding, this was the synthetic Synthroid that all doctors felt was appropriate treatment. I refuse to feel badly and have everything fell apart in my life my body, so I went out seeking a Doctor Who would listen to my symptoms and help me treat them appropriately, through much research about natural thyroid I started on it and adding T3 to my regime in my life came together again. We have thyroid issues in our family for four of us women who are treated a natural and compounded thyroid, please don’t take this action away as we need it for high quality of life.

Compounded hormones are critical to manage the careful balance I need to regulate emotional and physiological conditions. Getting in the way of my care is going to harm me much more than a low dose testosterone cream ever could.
