I am a 50 year old woman and I have used bio-identical hormones for 3 years. In my early 40’s, due to a medical condition, I had a partial hysterectomy. I was on non compounded progesterone Bioidentical HRT dose and it was not working for me, I needed a lower dose that was not available from a standard pharmacy. When I went through menopause, my primary care physician prescribed only synthetic Estradiol from a pharmaceutical company. This seemed to help with the initial symptoms of hot flashes and night sweats for a few years but I eventually had more and more post-menopausal problems that were not being helped by the synthetic hormones. I've been taking cBHT for for than 12 years. I'm 64. When I started, I studied the down side and saw little. Years ago, I did have a learning curve while it was figured out the correct dosage. I sleep a solid 8 hours and wake up refreshed. At age 57 I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, and advised to take bisphononates. I declined, stating well documented studies of negative side effects with long term use. I might consider them at age 87, but not at 57. For years I had been taking Armour Thyroid Hormone without any problems. Then my Dr was forced to take all of his patients off Armour and onto pharmacy grade T4/T5 so I had no choice but to take what the pharmacy had.

I started feeling weak and sick soon after starting the new med because of the fillers not agreeing with me. My Dr then ordered T4/T5 from the compound pharmacy as it has different fillers than the other one. I could tell a difference first dose and haven't had any more problems with it.
