“My story is a simple one of a postmenopausal woman trying to keep her hormones in balance”
Because balance is the whole issue. That's why just estrogen alone has bad results in clinical trials. And it's why anyone or two hormones replaced can look like hormone therapy isn't good for us, when in fact, keeping our hormones in balance is the most important thing we can do to prevent age-related illness and decline. Bioidentical compounded hormones are a literal life-saver for menopausal women and all those who suffer from hormonal imbalance. Don't take that away from us over flawed or incomplete studies.

“Hysterectomy in 1998”
I had a complete hysterectomy in 1998 and tried so many FDA-approved Hormone medications that made me feel crazy. Finally, after all the research I and a friend did we found the Compounded HRT meds, and after my care provider tweaking them a bit, the results are phenominal!
My skin, hair, and all-over body health have improved!

“Absolutely neccesary!”
necessary! I've been on hormone therapy during menopause and post-menopause and feel and look fantastic. I don't suffer from any mood swings, hot flashes, or any symptoms typical of my age...my skin and overall health are very good. I want the freedom to continue taking this alternative option to drugs.
“My experience is as follows:”
I feel that the hormone replacement therapy I am receiving is a real positive in my life. It has helped my depression, my mental sharpness, my physical well being and physical decline as I am in my 70's. If I didn't have this hormone replacement therapy available the quality of life I now enjoy would be taken away.
“18 years of compounded hormone replacement.”
In 2003, at the age of 45, I was diagnosed with uterine fibroid tumors. My family physician recommended removal and recommended a gynecologist/surgeon. He also recommended that, because of my age, I also have my ovaries removed, to reduce the chance of developing ovarian cancer, even though I had no risk factors, other than age, nor a family history of ovarian cancer. (This physician had treated our entire family for over 20 years, and we trusted him immensely, and still believe he was a good doctor.) The referred surgeon agreed with my family physician, so I agreed to undergo a complete hysterectomy/oophorectomy. Because I preferred a vaginal removal rather than an abdominal incision, the treatment plan included six months of Depo-Provera injections prior to surgery to attempt a reduction in the size of the tumors to facilitate removal. Because the surgery would induce menopause, I was informed I would receive an injection of hormone replacement at the time of the procedure and would require lifetime hormone replacement. The surgery was without complications other than temporary anemia due to excessive blood loss. I was ambulatory within 24 hours and discharged with instructions to follow up with my primary care physician in 4 weeks to obtain a prescription for hormone replacement treatment. The first week following surgery was spent recuperating and being thankful it was behind me. The second week, I began experiencing mild mood swings that I discussed with my physician. He explained it would take a while for my body to adjust to the replacement hormone levels. He prescribed a daily commercial synthetic estrogen replacement. In the next few weeks, the mood swings became more severe, and I began experiencing fatigue, hot flashes, and brief episodes of confusion. My physician prescribed an increase in hormone replacement and wrote prescriptions for an antidepressant and an antianxiety to combat the mood swings. Approximately 8 weeks following the surgery, I (a very private person who does not display emotions in public) went to my local grocery store, forgot why I went to the grocery store and had a complete, very public, meltdown on the canned-goods aisle. I stood staring at the rows of cans, tears streaming, hyperventilating, shaking. All the employees and half the customers of this small town grocery store knew me and witnessed this meltdown. I left the store, and by the time I arrived home and called my husband, I was hysterical. He left work and took me directly to my doctor's office. (I later found out that my husband had been researching my symptoms and had collected information and studies on bio-identical hormone replacement.) My physician's recommendation was to increase my estrogen replacement and 'add a little testosterone' for the fatigue to 'see it that will help.' At that point, my husband brought up bio-identical hormone replacement. The physician was not familiar nor had he ever prescribed it. He voiced doubt that it would help but did agree to assist me if that was what I wanted to do. I went home with hope. We contacted a compounding pharmacy and, together with the pharmacy, made a plan of treatment. I sent them hormone level lab results and a completed detailed questionnaire. I had a phone consultation with a compounding pharmacist. The pharmacy sent a recommendation to my physician, he approved, the pharmacy compounded a bio-identical hormone replacement specific for me, and my life returned to normal. Mood swings went away. Hot flashes went away. Fatigue and confusion went away. No more meltdowns in the grocery store. Now, at the age of 64, I am healthy, happy, active. My current family physician, that I only see yearly for my annual checkup and HRT prescription refill, told me he wasn't sure what I was doing, but to keep doing it. I credit my mental and physical health to having naturally balanced hormone levels that maintain all of my body systems at an optimal level. I do not believe a synthetic, one-pill-fits-all hormone replacement could do that.

“Compounded hormones have helped restore my body's balance and improve my health.”
I have Sjogren's Syndrome which has caused my hormones to dry up long before they should have. Compounded hormones have made a significant difference in my overall health. I am so thankful for my compounding pharmacy and that I have the choice to use a more natural product: bio-identical hormones.

“FQAD patient/ chemically sensitive”
I was affected neurologically as well as with lingering connective tissue damage from A fluoroquinolone drug. Modern medicine exacerbated my issues secondary to chemical sensitivities. Compounding pharmacies have been integral in me with hormone management, pain management, and staying away from opioid drugs. Don’t take them away!

“Compounded BHT saved my life”
I am 62 years old. When I was in my late 30s I was experiencing a lot of health issues not realizing that it was related to a lack of progesterone in my body. A few years later I was told about compounded BHT and it changed my life. I began to sleep, my anxiety went away, no more mood swings or pre-menstrual syndrome. My heavy periods became normal.
I have been on these hormones for almost 20 years WITHOUT side effects.
I have shared this information with many of my friends and coworkers who are currently using these hormones as well and agree they are life-changing.
“Without Compounded Hormones I would be suffering lots!”
I suffer from lichen sclerosis. Meds like Estrace, and vagisil irritate more than help! However, compounds like Naltrexone, BI-EST & Progesterone Lipoderm cream keep the lichen sclerosis at bay and give me relief from this chronic condition.
Please do not force the restriction of these Bio-Identical hormones which have so positively impacted my daily life.

“Compounding is a must for me”
In addition to bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, which has given me my life back (I cannot take the drugstore variety), I have to have my thyroid meds compounded. There are trace amounts of gluten in the drugstore kind, and I have celiac and am also hypersensitive to even the tiniest amount of gluten. I was getting sick every morning, and I couldn't figure out why. Thanks to compounding, I am able to take my medication without issue. If compounding were taken away from me, it would destroy my quality of life. It would be abusive.
“I have been using bio-identical hormones for years now.”
They help me with sleep, keep my muscle mass and strength, look a little younger than my age, and free me from hot flashes and irritability. All without fear of cancer due to synthetic hormones. Bodies are not 'one size fits all, and our compounding pharmacies tailor the type and amount of the hormones based on the recommendations of the doctors. My doctor closely watches my blood tests and makes changes when necessary. This is part of my overall health care regime that has kept me well and not utilized a lot of my doctor's time as well as keeping me out of the hospital. As a senior, I should have the right to live well in my older age. Please don't allow the FDA to implement new restrictions on these critical therapies!

“My life is so much better since starting my bio-identicals”
At the age of 40 (2014) I experienced severe adrenal fatigue, gained 70 lbs in 3 months and had a challenging time getting my life back. I recently spoke with a friend that is a naturopathic doctor specializing in women's hormones. She suggested that I speak with my doctor about my hormones. My doctor had a battery of tests run on me and it turns out all my sex hormones are at post-menopausal stage, and I haven't even gone through it yet. She put me on a bio-identical compound of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. I have been using it daily for 7 weeks now and I feel so much better. I sleep better, I'm not as hot as I usually am, my brain fog has lifted, and my libido is back. I can't imagine not having these hormones in my life. I was absolutely miserable up until now.
“Normal functioning with bioidentical hormones”
Hello,
I am writing because I believe access to bioidentical hormones should not be restricted. For years doctors recommended over-the-counter options for my menopausal symptoms. It has only been with bioidentical hormones that I have been able to function normally. Patients and doctors should be deciding what is in the best interest of the patient.
Thank you,
Verna

“I was taking HRT through my doctor (Premarin). This medication did nothing to help my symptoms”
After having no luck with Premarin, I went to a Homeopathic Doctor who prescribed the compounded estriol creme that I have been using for the last 15 years.
I had pain, bleeding, and thinning while I was on Premarin. It made no difference to my symptoms. I could not have intercourse with my husband because it hurt too much.
2 weeks on the compounded medication and I saw improvements to pain level and bleeding. I have been on this compounded medication for over 15 years and have had no negative side effects, only positive results.
I would hate to have this medication taken away. It has improved my quality of life when nothing else could.

“Low testosterone at age 45”
I was recently diagnosed with low testosterone and was prescribed testosterone replacement therapy in the form of a compounded cream because I cannot take injections for personal reasons.
Although I've only been on this regimen a few days now I can already tell a great difference and can tell that my quality of life is improving. This is a life-changing treatment for me and thousands of others.
“Balanced”
My compounded hormonal cream has reduced my hot flashes and night sweats significantly. I also have reduced anxiety and better sleep at night. My skin isn’t as dry.

“Bioidentical Hormones have changed my life!!!”
Before I began using cBHT hormones I could not sleep through the night. I had hot flashes throughout the day and night sweats at night that caused me to have to get up and change the sheets and my pajamas quite often. This was exhausting!! As a result of my lack of sleep, my immune system was much lower than it is now. I got sick all the time! Since I have been on the hormones, I have not been sick at all!! I had migraine headaches which were very debilitating and I was depressed often. It was hard to see the light and hope and purpose in life! Six years ago I developed adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulders) in both shoulders simultaneously which was not caused by injury or chronic tension build-up. It happened quite suddenly and was precisely at the time I was not having a period anymore. Menopause was in full swing! I knew I needed help and am so glad I found a couple of naturopathic physicians who tested my hormone levels and knew just what I needed. Once I began using the compounded creams, my hot flashes and night sweats went away, I began to sleep better and eventually through the night. My moods improved and I began having less depressive thoughts and dark days. I had hope again and life had meaning!! My pain and range of motion gradually improved in my shoulders with some myofascial release therapy and physical therapy exercises which hadn't helped nearly as much before the creams were started. My parents both suffer from osteoporosis and so since I am genetically predisposed, I am so glad I am able to use the compounded hormones to prevent that from happening in me! My Dad has suffered multiple fractures from that and it is difficult to watch him go through that! I am so grateful for what they have done for me!! I certainly hope we continue to have free access to these wonderful remedies!

“Would be dead without TRT.”
In 2018 my Total and Free Testosterone had plummeted from nearly 450/57 to 45/.9. My E2 was 65. I was sexless, depressed and extremely low energy. I was dondepressed I was considering suicide. After a blood draw my Doctor asked me if I wanted to do something about my Low (Hypogonadism) testosterone. I said yes. He started me on self injections and essentially saved my life. If the compounding pharmaciesvare shut down it will drive the price of testosterone up and limit my therapy to one ester not the compound that makes me feel better.

“Excellent.”
I have been on bio-identical hormones for over 30, yrs. I love them! They are helpful in so many ways. There is no comparison to the synthetic ones. These are formulated for your own body. I couldn't be as healthy without them. Please do not take these away from women who need them.
“Bio identical hormones are the only thing that alleviates night sweats and hot flashes for me.”
I am 80 years old and have had severe, debilitating hot flashes and night sweats since 1996 and the only thing that has given me relief is bio-identical hormones. Through the years I have tried to go off the two times and the hot flashes and night sweat returned with a vengeance. The night sweats were so bad that My body, clothing, and bed would be soaking wet. I suspect that I will need the bio-identical hormones for the remainder of my life as nothing else had made a difference.
