I have been on hormone therapy for almost 15 years now and before BHT I was miserable. I began menopause at 47. I couldn't sleep, I was moody and anxious, I had terrible brain fog, I was always tired and no energy as well as having hot flashes every 45 minutes to an hour 24-7. This is no exaggeration. My grown daughter finally said to me "Mom you are going to have to do something; you're a little crazy". It was at that time that I found a physician and began my BHT. I suffered from endometriosis and had to have a total hysterectomy. I have severe allergies and multiple health conditions. Conventional hormones contain ingredients that cause brain damage, among damaging my other organs. If I can't get a medicine compounded, then I can't get a medicine. This could lead to a high risk for neurological, autoimmune, and other immune disorders in addition to my already 10 diagnoses. I need my meds to be compounded to LIVE. Without hormone therapy, I can't manage the immune and neurological disorders I have currently.

After giving birth to my daughter at the age of 36 through a C-section, and while still on the operating table, the surgeon discovered that endometriosis had spread tremendously and attached to my colon. Early menopause and hypothyroidism hit about the same time!!! I thought I was going crazy. Went to every doctor that specialized in these areas. I was 43 when it was necessary for me to have a COMPLETE hysterectomy and therefore, menopause started on the operating table! For at least a decade or more before menopause, I had decided I would not take hormone replacements because all I ever heard and saw was how women who took them developed breast cancer. I transitioned from male to female in 2013 (via gender reassignment surgery), and immediately sought out compounded hormones because of the safer route they provide to normal orally ingested hormones that fully pass through the liver/kidneys and affect the body more severely and chemically than the compounded torches. I also feel strongly that the side effects are less, especially the long term effects of taking hormone therapy, and as I need to supplement my hormones the rest of my life, that is definitely a concern of mine. At 38 years old I had a complete hysterectomy. I had side effects and issues with synthetic hormones. If I did not have access to bio-identical hormones I would still be suffering. My husband and I moved and started a new business in another state. Connecting with the people in the area and keeping my head clear were vital to making the business work. My relationship with my partner suffered greatly because I had a lack of physical desire once menopause began.
