Without this very important medication I would have been open to possible Estrogen based cancer. I spent most of my 40's dealing with Estrogen based fibroids and endometriosis. Having procedure after procedure and lots of pain. I also have multiple allergies and am unable to take many medications. The only option for me is compounded bioidentical hormone therapy. Eliminating this type of therapy would put women's health back into the era when women getting cancer more frequently was associated with menopause. We would not have bone protection and quite frankly function the same way that we are able to now. This medication is a choice between a woman and her doctor and the government should stay of out of this. It is already bad enough that my insurance company will not pay for this safer alternative for me. I must pay out of pocket. I am not talking $1.00 or $2.00 dollars, I am talking about $100.00/month. Insurance companies pay for erectile dysfunction medication, but not to individually protect women and give them quality of life as they age. This is just more evidence of the inequality women have in society.
